@@ChuckSeayII thank you so much! And I totally agree with you, depth the field should always be a creative choice, and a blurry background or a blurry foreground is not always appropriate, and in fact is hardly ever appropriate in reality. :-) At least for a film that is real storytelling. Maybe for a RUclips video when you’re making a video about that subject of course it’s appropriate, but in general, very few filmmakers blur out the foreground or the background very often. it’s always very intentional and for just a few key moments.

The Rokkor 50mm 1.4 is also my favorite. A friend gave it to me as part of my first 35mm SLR and I've never bought another camera or lens because I love the look of the images so much. I only take photos of family when I visit a few times a year, and I use it to take portraits of my nieces and nephew as they grow up. It has given me some beautiful images over the years.

Rock, thanks for slowing down the pace of life and just relating. Takes me a moment to slow down my mind and just chill and listen for a while, but it's valuable to take that time and I appreciate it by the end of your videos.

Thank you so much, I really appreciate you taking the time to do that. It’s not easy in this crazy world that we live in, but I actually think it’s important to stop for a minute, and get off the train and just slow down a little bit. Which is pretty ironic for me to say because if you ever saw my theater work, it’s like the fastest train you’ve ever been on. Lol. But I think because of that work, I understand the importance of putting on the brakes every so often. Thanks for all the good energy, I really do appreciate that. And I don’t take it for granted.

I’m working on a RUclips video now and I’m happy to say that I finally have my full creative style, I’ve been trying to find myself. To make movies and documentaries it takes a lot of time and great effort so I will leave that to when I get more time once I quit

The great thing about lenses like that are that they are so cheap. You’ll never spend more than $200 on any lens, and more likely you’ll be spending about 60 or $75. I got my Helios for $67. Lol and the adapters are $10. :-) Your style is already pretty strong. But when YOU personally know that you understand exactly who you are as a filmmaker is the only time your style is actually locked in. Because you’re the only one who gets to say who you are as an artist. I look forward to all of your work, and thanks so much for all the good energy, I really appreciate it.

I know what it means to me to want to be a wannabe RUclipsr. I've thought about the possibility of having a ton of subscribers. Maybe even one day living off of what I make from my RUclips content. But, having worked at a full time job for the past three years or so, I struggled to make time for creating content while also living a life spending time with friends and family,. Fast forward to today, just two weeks after I was told that my work hours are being reduced to part time hours due to the company not making as much as a whole. For a few days, I stressed about being able to survive on part time work. At this moment, I'm still not sure how it's going to work out. But, I'm not letting it stress me out. Stress is self perpetuating. Worrying only makes it harder to think clearly. Now, I'm looking at the extra hours I'll have in the morning as an opportunity to put more time into my projects. Maybe even making some random videos here and there on topics about filmmaking. Not reviews necessarily, but, topics related to filmmaking but on a less technical point of view and more on how they affect my creative choices.
Thanks for another engaging video. I am saying that you're more than a wannabe RUclipsr. Your content is SO much better than 90% of what's on RUclips, that I think in time your audience and subscriber base will grow. Right now, a lot of people are still drawn to the flashy and boisterous content creators out there. Although, it's been said lately, that the new trend on RUclips are videos that are more like yours. Creating a face to face connection with your audience by engaging with them directly - as you do. You're ahead of the game as far as I'm concerned. So, keep up your fantastic content. I'm here for the long haul.

@@AllThingsFilm1 oh man, I’m so sorry to hear this, it’s a drag when the world gets turned upside down and it has nothing to do with any choice that you’ve made. Just when you feel like you have everything settled and you’re scheduling your life, something changes and that’s never easy. But I think your point of view is the right one, take that time and look at it as an opportunity to do the things that you really want to do, and then the sky’s the limit. Sometimes in adversity is when we break through to the best parts of our life. I appreciate the support so much, and the encouragement, and trust me, I definitely won’t stop. :-) I can’t help myself. :-) I’m excited to say that I just set up some playlists here at my channel, so it’s gonna be easier to find certain content now from the past, and I’m gonna continue with my stories in 4K now.anyway, good luck with your shift of focus for the moment, I hope it leads you to the greatest moment of your life, and in the meantime, just try to stay positive and be as productive as possible. Thanks again, I greatly appreciate all the good energy all the time.

@@WR3ND it’s not necessarily wanting to be a RUclipsr, but to figure it out, to have another form of income as an independent artist, while doing something that contributes to my creative process at the same time. I think it’s all about how you approach anything that you want to do. To have a RUclips channel can mean many different things to many different people. My intentions are always to get better at what I do, and to somehow contribute to the rest of the world, people other than just myself, so that I never turn around and think that my life was just about taking up space. My art is about contributing, and anything that I do beyond and including RUclips is all about that. Thanks so much for coming through and for the meaningful comments, I really appreciate it.
