- Sri Kote Ranganatha Swamy temple Belathur KR Pete Mandya Karnataka India. Mandya temples are famous ancient temples along which there are unknown temples in Karnataka.
Sri Kote Ranganatha Swamy temple is equivalent to tirupati, Tirupati Balaji temple, is located at Belathur, KR Pete, Mandya, Karnataka.
The ancient Hoysala temple is said to have been built during the time of Hoysala king Veera Ballala III. The beauty of Ranganatha Swamy statue with Lakshmi engraved on his chest remains damp irrespective of the weather or season.
The Ranganatha statue has three in one expression of happiness, anger and peace. this unknown temple of Karnataka was taken up for renovation after demolishing the original temple which was in ruins. The present temple construction has been stopped mid way for unknown reasons. The story of river cauvery and Hemavathi is an interesting one.

I'm from Telangana and I'm shocked to see so many old and beautiful temples which are unknown to people and are not famous.temples of mandya district are must to visit I think if someone wants to explore and see ancient architecture and culture.

Totally agree with you.. Awareness is lacking about these places and in the name of restoration the ancient valuable structures are done away with to be replaced with modern tiles .
Mandya is named after Sage Mandavya just as Kashmir is from sage Kashyapa

I like Kote Ranganatha Swamy temple of Belathur, it is my favourite place and Kote Ranganatha Swamy of Belathur is my favourite God and it looks like Venkateshwara.this temple is very powerful than Thirupathi Because this is the place where Vishnu left his foot there before going to Thirupathi. Long back when I went to kallahalli bhu varaha swamy temple near K.R.Pet , it's like this. But now I can't even remember how it was earlier , in that way it's developed. It has become a tourist spot. So like this , one day this temple also will become a tourist spot. No doubt

Demolition of more than 600 big and small temples happened in Goa where I come from during Portuguese rule .n few by muslims...lands turned barren... village gramasansthas lost its power..
