Such a beautiful house. I love the paint colours that have been chosen throughout which blend so well with the stone and wood.There is a feeling of coolness away from the heat of a hot summer yet enough cosiness for those cooler days.

WOW!....Gregory's Dad gets a huge round of applause for all that work he put into the place! It's great to have a handy relative willing to invest time in your projects. I always wonder though, what happened to the previous owners, why was the place in such disrepair, was the wine business no longer working for them? Is it possible the changing weather patterns made it difficult to continue their wine business? This house got super lucky with people willing to bring it back to life, & do it up to a high standard and have it make sense in today's world. I wish them alot of luck with their future plans and I totally enjoyed this tour! Thanks!

Just exquisite. Their home is so basic, so earthy...but I want to say ethereal as you pan through the rooms. Alicia, Gregory and Dad must feel a great sense of satisfaction for the artistry they've created. Bien fait! Beaujolais was very popular here back in the 1980's...more the rose gamay version. No idea why...but it was good. Hi from Wisconsin 🥂

Three things that impress me the most, #1 your professional style of filming and narration #2 the stone work not only in this house but in yours and other buildings you have filmed, it gives new meaning to "no stone left unturned" the quarries in Europe must be huge #3 the timber framing built in the1600 wow. I did notice (16:26) nuts & bolts I'm sure some earlier remodeling between 1600 and these owners (who would have thought) the new owners restoration work, just impressive!! Okay and the brocante too.
Thanks! Yes it is so impressive to me as well that they knew how to build homes that are solid and last ages! They really don’t build houses like that anymore. The craftmanship is incredible. I loved seeing all the notes they made on the beams (which I think was walnut wood). Pretty impressive how good the state of it still is.

If I lived in France I fear that I would become a BROCANTE--AHOLIC............Canada is too young to have such beautiful antiquities..........this place is adorable and simple , just the way I like it,,,Thanks for letting us view it with you................................Years ago when I became a watercolor artist I remarked to my teacher that he had ruined every drive I would ever take again because now I view everything with "what I call " painters eye ""little snippets of landscape , part of a stream, a patch of daisies next to an old wooden fence , things I might someday paint , but missing the whole picture and I often wonder if it is the same for you producing content for the channel,,,,,please make sure to see and enjoy the whole picture,,,,,hugs ,, Cherryl from Canada

@@PierresDorees Your very welcome ! I have had so many styles over the years that it's daunting just to think about it . I started with primitive , then country , then shabby chic , then city farmhouse , then nautical , then beachy , then snooty french and now going for simple uncluttered scandi /french . Marloes has taught me how to pare down to minimal but with a cozy feel ! I've spent so much time selling and buying , placing and arranging , refinishing and reupholstering that I never really got to sit and enjoy ! So now I have time to do the gardens without it being a hurried chore , time to do my jams and jellies and pickles and preserves without it being an exhausting endeavor ! I needed her 40 years ago but alas better late than never !!!! Nice to see that simple and uncluttered can still be individual and still say " it's me " ...... hugs Cherryl from Canada

We've driven along the autostrada from Beaune to Lyon too many times to remember but never pulled off to wander the villages of Beaujolais. They look stunning. Do you have any favourites? With pleasure. If you l love wines, you can also explore Chiroubles and Fleurie villages which are lovely too… approx 40 min far from the Pierres Dorées region. You can find good restaurants there. And for coffee in the Pierres Dorées, my advise would be the « Café Restaurant La Feuillée » at Theizé. A lovely and typical village restaurant with a beautiful terrasse. I don’t know if you will find the coffee excellent but the place is great. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you need more advises. It also will be a pleasure to take a coffee with you !
