Rumor has it we'll see him at the left 8. If so, we play to his strength of arriving into the box with a late run (his words). There's a good chance he gets a lot more headed goals with us, considering our desire to cross in a LOT of balls to undersized forwards. Having Jesus/Saka/Martinelli making dangerous runs to have Havertz show up late would be perfect for having that extra something we just didn't see too much of last year.
Arsenal fans like to speculate. No one knows where he would play but Arteta. Infact, what makes us think Arteta will play the same formation next season? We have seen Pep change formation mid season.
Ladies and gentlement, Kai is the missing link in this arsenal team. Watch arteta transform this guy into a beast. He is technically sound and has immense potential that chelsea were unable to tap.

It seems like it would be reasonable to think that he would try the 8 though, considering he would be able to then play with Jesus/Trossard. We also need a left 8 with Xhaka leaving, and it seems like Fabio and ESR aren't ready yet. I like the signing a lot, and I think he suits us as a late runner.
He will play next to Odegaard, Xhaka was deputizing in that role very well but it wasn’t his specialty. Havertz is an AM/SS, has always been. He will interchange with Jesus a lot as well to create that unpredictability for defences.
Very good piece of business but ofcourse, we can only appreciate him properly if the gaffer can get him to play like I’m suggesting. The entire front 4 are rotatable!
@@SMGTTY exactly what I was thinking. If I remember correctly our priorities this summer for transfers were an 8, a 6, and a rb. Timber is looking like he's on the way in (fingers crossed, he's going to be an upgrade on White when it comes to his technical ability) and that takes care of the rb, Rice and Lavia in at 6, so Havertz must be playing a fluid 8/9.

Good to see him join! I remember seeing him play for Leverkusen, wishing for Arsenal to make a move. Was a bit sad he left for Chelsea at the time, but he's still so young and will surely prove to be a important player for us!

Chelsea fan here - seeing Kai go is very sad, he has tonnes of potential. I do hope this move works for him - however, he can be very lazy, he slows the game down a lot if not used properly and I think he has an attitude problem (as is the case of many PL footballers). It'll be interesting to see how he develops!
I think ESR was being protected. They know he's been fragile so by just giving him extra time to recover the thinking would be of long term benefit to him and the club. I still have bad memories of Wilshire never reaching his potential.

What people fail to understand is that talent don't die. I watched this guy perform magic at Leverkusen. That talent is still in there somewhere and it is now up to Mikel to bring it out. If Xhaka could be coached to improve at 29years of age, then Kai at only 24 shouldnt be a problem .

Guys I know it doesn't make sense much right now why we signed him. Remember the new Granit Xhaka role everyone talked about? Arteta has experimented with Xhaka and recognised that we can absolutely play with another strikerish player who's not really a striker and who also can help us out in defensive activities. Havertz has a proper habit of doing so and his work ethic is appreciable. We are the right place for him and we need him. Don't worry he will shine with us.

I'm not an Arsenal fan but this has to be the signing of the season.. Havertz is pure, effortless class, who Chelsea played out of position and failed to get the most out of... Arteta will certainly get the best out of him.
When I watch the video I see him taking up a lot of spaces that Xhaka is in. Our team is gonna cook with him in those spaces instead of Xhaka
He has more attacking flair than Xhaka, but Xhaka has more defensive solidity than he does. It will be interesting to see how the team performs with him in place of Xhaka
He needs to add defensive work and positioning as well as Xhaka did. Too many peeps look forward but forgot about the defensive duties.

Such a strange move. 5 years ago, when Kai was an up and Comer at Leverkusen, I used to buy him every year as an Ozil replacement in FIFA career mode. When he got bought up by Chelsea, I was so sad because I always hoped we'd make a move for him and he was going to my most hated rival of ours. Guess better late than never right?

I think his motivation and passion for football would explode with The Arsenal. Saka, Martinelli and co will all contribute to the levels of the beautiful game and he'll will feed off from it.
The price is the only thing for me. I like that he gave Arteta choice across frontline especially for Saka, also he can head the ball which arsenal lack across the frontline except Martinelli
The guy has a good first touch. Also, Arsenal has been lacking someone with his height (1.94 m) in the attacking positions since Giroud. Maybe Arteta will mold him into a lethal #9. RVP was also a winger before. Ben White is rolling different nowadays. Who knows...the future holds a lot for Kai and Arsenal.

Havertz isn't a bad player, Chelsea just never used him properly like they do with most of their forwards. He will thrive under Arteta. Shame it didn't work out with us

He just needs to add either goals or assists to his name.

This guy is so much more talented then declan rice! It was much more important to get a player with this profile then signing another cdm. Its a fantastic signing for arsenal, we finally have a linkup man in the front ranks. A player of this height who is also a tekker is incredibly rare. He fits perfectly into the playstyle and plugs a big hole in the squad. Love this signing 👌

We dont need a nr 6, why would we need a nr 6 so badly? What we actually need badly is a nr 8 and id MUCH rather play havertz then rice alongside ødegaard as the second 8. Havertz can also play the false 9, shift jesus to the right and give saka a rest. He is a brilliant signing that solves several problems and plugs a giant hole, thats blatantly obvious.

declan rice would most likely play as a nr 8 in the xhaka role at arsenal. He doesnt have the vision, ball handling or passing skills to be the outlet when playing out from the back. Agree or disagree?
Personally i prefer jorginho over rice as the cdm in this system and i think that is a fair asessment when playing out from the back.
And if playing both havertz and ødegaard, ødegaard would be a box to box playing slightly deeper, which he is very capable of doing. Havertz would be the one playing behind jesus as an offensive midfielder.
@@wildchild3862 I don't see any midfielder at Arsenal starting ahead of Rice, certainly not Jorginho. If they plan on playing Havertz and Odegaard together, then you need a very mobile, strong running holding mid. That is Rice, or someone like Caicedo it ain't Jorginho that's for certain.

A good alternative to Xhaka, maybe better against weaker teams or thrown on when we need a goal. Very technical, good presence in the box for crosses, room for improvement under Arteta's guidance. Not sure how his workrate is, that's my only concern but that can usually be coached. Champions league experience too!

He's so far had such an almost career. If we can utilise him correctly and give him chances, he and Gabriel Jesus could make a fantastic, versatile, finessing front 2. As good as Haaland is, he's a freight train. If we can get these 2 firing and healthy we will challenge for the league cup again.
