They bring local native people on stage for the opening and closing wherever they travel to (when possible). What an incredible piece of art and powerful expression
This was one of the most sacred moments! I was awestruck at how we ALL got immediately silent and respectful! That was holy. It reminded me of the respect I felt once while observing the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier at Washington DC. Thank you HEILUNG! The world needs more of you!!!
Shaky phone like this, and it's never fucked up before, or after and since.. Just means the spirits aka ghosties are there. And they are..it's a blessing.
Do consider it, if you get the chance. The crowd is ENTIRELY different from the usual. Very positive, kind, loving, good drama if there’s any drama at all. I never felt safer and more accepted anywhere than I do at their shows.
I'm from PA but I've been in CO 9 yrs haha.... saw Heilung just before covid at the Ogden here in Denver.... and of course I was at this show too... it was amazing! And..... I got tickets 2 yrs ago for Warduna and they are finally coming ... Nov 8 at The Paramount ❤️
This is good, this was a special night, we were fated for this delayed excellence. If you were not there, fear not you were in our hearts. If you were not in our hearts, then you were dead to us, and therefore even more sacred!
I missed this ritual because of surgery 😩 The nation blessing it everyone repeating over the chant is the most powerful thing. Respect we are all one.❤
Recently heard this amazing group, so I had to tell my sister to check them out, she has a Bachelors in religious studies and we're both fans of Dead Can Dance, O Yuki Conjugate, etc., she says "yeah I've heard them, saw them live at Red Rocks last year"...I'm like, well of course she has heard of them long before I did and has even seen them live haha, kind of sad I missed this but cheerful for the uploads, thank you! Hope they pay Red Rocks a visit again, perfect venue for them.
That ain’t the half of it! Later in the show the PA system blew! The monitors worked so they could hear themselves but the audience was left hanging! Fortunately they took it in stride and made their own.
Do the photographers really need to be up so close when they got such powerful lenses? It was very annoying to watch them. This is the only festival where they were up so close from what I remember.
It might have also been my video? It’s something that breaks on the cameras of older iPhones, like the 6-8… guess sometimes something just like some dust can then cause it to act up… time for a new phone…
The Ancient Ones were present with us that night. I can not find words to explain the feelings my tired old soul felt that night. It was the energy of Odin.
@@daniellehurrell6620 it's not really a ritual(they are atheists) it's a beautiful performance, that tries to compress music from an era that gathers thousands of years (until early midevial times) around north-west Europe.
@@daniellehurrell6620 their knowledge of America is pretty much based on what they see on movies - haha. It’s a huge country with every kind of culture and person.
Another thing that you, and I, for that matter, (because I don't have Native American ancestry, and I'm assuming you don't either) will never be able to fully understand is the reverence and respect for the land (Red Rocks) on which this ritual took place. The Native Americans were here first. It's THEIR land first and foremost. Heilung asked for their blessing and help in this ritual. I respect that, as did the audience, with their silence. So you can take your judgement and assumptions and SHOVE THEM where Gaia wants them. 🌑
@@daniellehurrell6620 I think what the user called "Tribe" wanted to phrase here, is just paraphrised. It's more on a wondering tone, like "where is the silence?", not "oh they are silent". For European standards, this is loud, especialy in the beginning. I saw them in concert at Graspop, Belgium and I can asure you, that the reaction was more of a complete silence, because you get so sucked into their show, you stay there with your own thoughts so there is no room for screaming or yelling. In my humble opinion, it's also not necessary to adress screams as a first form of expression. Astonishment can be shown in various ways, of a different caliber.
The entirety of the crowd falling completely silent for the opening ceremony was possibly the most powerful part of the show.
I thought the same thing. I'm glad I got to go.

Joining the two Ancients is stunning showmanship

Under-rated!!!! :)
I love how the crowd thanks the participants in the beginning

Wow! Maria in Heilung is performing a form of Scandinavian/Nordic herd calling (kulning) during her solo part at the end.
This was a amazing show. Perfect venue. Maria truly stunned the crowd. Transendial.
I can't wait to see them in Pittsburgh in Aug.
I'm not really a concert guy, but if I could have I would have gone to see Heilung.

They Honor the Ancestors.
Thank you for filming this. I was at Red Rocks for Wardruna. Flew in from PA.
I also flew in from PA to go see Heilung here lol. I met a lot of people there that also went to that Wardruna show.

i see a professional camera filming!! Does this mean they are going to release another Lifa-esque video of their tour/show?
They just did few days ago! Of this very show

Why is their so many photographers there?was this featured in something?
I wanted so badly to be there. Sad I missed it.
I was there in the. Third row it was Amazing !!
Amazing video, thank you! I was about 25 rows behind you ;)
Camera distortion due to intense energy, wish I could have made it.
The best, most meaningful ritual I have ever attended.

Annoying Photo Shooting really disturbs this unique atmosphere of In -Maidjan. However I love the opening ceremony.

Someone please book them in Utah at the Tuacon
Seeing them in LA in sept in time for my bday I have chills watching this I can’t wait for the real experience
See you there
I see something behind there 😱 with horns not you guys i saw a spirit 😱

Red Rocks is on my bucket list. I need to see a live show there, but it needs to be the right band. I will make it there, one day.
You have to go. Always dreamef of it got the chance a few years ago
This is the right band. Its a no brainer.
I am blessed to live in Colorado and have seen so many Amazing Red Rocks shows. I hope they come back because I need to experience this live!❤
Seriously, what's up with the camera? I have seen this on another video of this concert as well.

Germanic music 🎶🎵
Gömul hefð fyrir því að draga svo inn í óhreinindi mjög vafasöm
Engin virðing og heiður, hvað þá velsæmi
Eins og ég sagði, ósvífni gæsku minnar

Hvar er frjálsa fólkið
Finnst það ósvífni
Og aftur fátækir
Nei þakka þér
Grrrrrr
Og aftur eitthvað svoleiðis
I think American audience needs to learn to keep silence during performance - something wrong with that - plain disrespect.
They were completely silent during the opening ritual…I don’t know what they did wrong…
I was present that night. It was utterly silent.

They can do what they want. In Scotland we were howling dancing and being in the moment you should try it
