    Absolutely consider fielding a dedicated vehicle for your NARC and iNARC needs. The Jihad-era Tufana is a 35-ton, 11/17 headache of a hovercraft for your enemies, whether it's firing inferno SRMs from its MML7 along with NARC beacons, or the later version that goes all-in on iNarc with the 4-ton ammo bin and dual MPL. Both also have TAG. Fragile, though.
    If that's a little too late, you could use the Striker (NARC) or Scimitar (TAG). It's OK.jpg, but it's cheap.
    If you can handle the fiddliness, a lance of Battle Armour with Compact NARC Launchers e.g. Grenadier Hunter-Killer (NARC), Oni (NARC) can be hilarious.

    I’ve got a fun C* Level II I like to fiddle around with. The -005 King Crab, Avatar E, Bombardier, Phoenix Hawk, Hussar, and Shadow Hawk. The big guys all distract while the PHX starts popping pods, then the Bombardier and Shadow Hawk start bombing targets hard. The Hussar’s there primarily as a sniper, though I could swap it for a second Bombardier or some other c3i missile boat.

    Seems like nemesis pods might pair well with fielding a melee mech. When you get in close it maximises the lines of fire that overlap your enemy on the way to you, and you force them to choose between punching back and attempting to clear the nemesis pods. At least that's my take as someone who's never actually played tabletop.

    • @TheManyVoicesVA

      Come and join us in the MRC! You can play through Megamek and learn the joy of smashing giant robots with your own giant robots! With lasers, and massive cannons!
      Nemesis does definitely help melee mechs to close not only for the reason you stated. (Tbh most people dont take the risk of punching themselves to get rid of the pod)
      When you have a penalty on to-hit rolls, suddenly that melee mech that ran on top of you is even harder to hit... and with 2d6 systems, every penalty to hit is a huge drop in overall likelihoods. Hitting on 9s is tough, 10+ almost never happens it seems. But even just pushing someone over 7(the most likely result on 2d6) is incredibly strong.

    • @CowCommando
      @CowCommando 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@TheManyVoicesVA I didn't mean it helps the melee mech to close. I meant it appears to synergize with getting close, something the melee mech wants to do anyway. The closer you are to the nemesis victim, the more lines of fire coming at you are forced to intersect the nemesis target to get to you.
      Nemesis might also help you destroy the enemies spotter if you can close with it. Now that I've thought about some more.
      Regardless, nemesis is really situational as it relies on the enemy to have brought missiles and is mitigated by the enemies maneuverability, so unless you _know_ the enemy comp heavily favors missiles going in, Nemesis probably isn't worth ever bringing as it can easily be wasted tonnage.

    Brush off is most dangerous to mechs without arms- so, catapults, Jenners, or anything that sucks at punching like a Puma or Rifleman, basically arm flippers, are just f'ed at brushing off. Maybe priority targets.

But yay excellent video again critically underutalised weapon enhancement ......... As a dirty Capellan i always be using it while i jam my enemies Artemis

    • @TheManyVoicesVA
      @TheManyVoicesVA  7 месяцев назад +2

      Hehehe yes the ECM pods are good for that. So for the Archer and Orion they are actually close range brawlers with LRMs strapped to them. The archer version with narc has medium lasers and SRMs. Now, it goes harder into the LRMs with 2 20 packs, but I feel like it's meant to turn and shoot at an annoying light or medium mech. Then when it forces them away with close range weapons, it can still shoot them with narc'd LRMs.
      The Orion is even more of a brawler with most of its tonnage in the AC10.
