Imo Govvee really isn't a fake option to Phillips Hue, they're just an alternative option.

I totally agree. They are a great company and I have their permanent outdoor house lights, and many of their other things. They are not fake in any regard.

i was a huge fan of phillips products but Govee delivers the same quailty for a third of the price, i now have like 10-15 govee products around the house
I wouldn't consider Govee a 'fake' brand in any way, all of their products are of a premium quality

Fr I’ve bought a few of the extremely over-priced fans and have ended up ditching all of them for Vornado or other alternatives, that do a much better job for a fraction of the cost.
Not really the tests aren’t exactly long term or useful. The Dyson fan for example has a HEPA filter which is rated for finer things than what was used, the cheap model doesn’t and you can buy replacement filters for the Dyson. I have a similar Dyson vacuum and my parents bought the cheap one. Mine will still clean as well as it did new, they’ve replaced there’s 2 or 3 times from it breaking or losing suction.

Household tech: fake wins
There is real, sophisticated tech in a phone and tablet in the hardware and software. In a Dyson product, notsomuch. Considering all household tech products are manufactured in the same way and sometimes in the same place means that household products can all be pretty similar to each other. With Philips and Dyson, their business strategy is obv not compete with a better product but to outcompete their competitors by establishing their brands a lifestyle brands. In that way Govee and the Dyson alternatives really weren't direct competitors. When manufacturing all got centralized and homogenized then the importance of marketing and branding became the main way to boost profits since the product itself was no longer different enough to warrant the upcharge to the consumer
Except i disagree with the controller. It might feel the same at first but im pretty sure the fakes buttons are gonna break earlier
@maxsimes yep used a few fake controllers in my time as a secondary controller (if real one got no battries or i got a mate over), have to change them every 6 months or so due to button issues but my original xbox one has recorded more use and lasted for over 2 years with no issues

It's not fake, more like inferior quality. His tests doesn't involved durability, safety, servicing, etc. So you might think the cheaper versions are just as good, but the truth is, his tests are not comprehensive enough to come to such conclusion. When comes to electronic products, trusted brands are still better, especially Japanese made electronics
If there's anything moral to say it's that the fake companies rip off the hard work that makes these things possible and supporting them by buying their products hurts the ability for innovation to be possible

The wallet is from a company named Vionentus. The shoes are custom made by a shoemaker friend of mine. The former already has excellent quality and the latter just makes the most comfortable shoes you'll ever need
I also agree with you guys, if i'm going to spend i don't about brands at all i just need a product that's excellent at what it does

It seems like anything that isn’t reliant on a UI or proprietary software is relatively safe to buy the ‘fake’ version. You can copy design and basic function like a vacuum, lights, controller etc. but you can’t copy good software like a phone/tablet.

The thing i find interesting about "fakes" is just how many now household names started by making what were blatant clones of other products... they got their footing and now they are considered pretty great in their own right.

It is wired to your standard doorbell system but you can get those speakers for other rooms

They connect to your phone and other devices like smart speakers. For a lot of people out there, the ringer part would never get plugged in - you don't need it.

Definitely wouldn’t label Govee as fake, they’re just a competitor/alternative to Philips & honestly imo they’re much better. Been using Govee products for years now and they’ve always worked great
As an owner of a phone service counter, I do need to add that another downside of fake phones are their weird internal components, which most of the time means we're unable to service their phone. Each and every phone has their own type of LCDs, Motherboards, and charging boards, all also having their own cables fit for that specific device. So when we get a fake, nothing can be replaced cuz the phone's internals are all wrong. Same can also somewhat be applied to more basic appliances, like the air purifier and vacuum cleaner, as usually there would at least be one video on the internet on how someone fixes it, serving as a guide on how to fix them. But for the simpler problems like broken parts can often be fixed by competent technicians/repairmen

The Dyson ones were *very* intriguing to me, as I've always wanted the vacuum & fan, but could never get my hands on them for the price. To know there's affordable "knock-off's" that are near-identical in performance really surprised me. I'd love to get my hands on them whenever I can.
They work well initially, however the Dyson and other similar brands stand the test of time. Buy cheap, buy twice

Another thing to take into account is how long these things will work for. Which I know would be a hard test for you to perform for this video. Like for the fake Xbox controller, I have had fake ones before that feel great but then stop working in a month, where as the real ones seem to last years.
The fakes actually weren't as bad as I expected, which is a subtle way of saying I'm now contemplating ordering five of them for myself.
Govee is actually a really good budget brand, i got a ceiling lamp for my bathroom and a led strip for my bed, and they work and hold up very well (4+ years and still counting), while any other cheap led strip broke in like a few months
