Would you recommend this for someone to do on their first project car? I'm planning to buy an auto integra (as manual ones are either overpriced or have 300k kms) and convert it to a manual instead, since that experience would really teach me a lot about working on cars. Would appreciate ur thoughts as u have done it first hand:))
Definitely, this is my first car and I bought it cheap but it was an auto. So manual swap it was, honestly isn’t too bad to swap, pretty easy if you know a little bit about cars. Definitely do your research…
@@ValveHouseAU can i ask you where you got the supplies and the book that helped you? I'm thinking about getting my first car as an integra, but I want a manual and its an auto
@@Isaac.bouchard we bought most of the parts of an Integra that was being parted out, Elusive Racing sells lots of goodies and the book we got from Supercheap Auto
She’s a bit rough on the outside, but that will hopefully be solved soon🤫. Words can’t describe how much I love this car and you’re right, Acura is awesome
@@ValveHouseAU the car looks amazing to me on the outside but I already know you guys will make it look even more astonishing 😎 hey bro hope you don’t mind me asking would it be easier to buy all the parts and manual swap or would it be more easier to just buy a integra alreadly 5speed ? Everyone always tells me the second option would be easier but I would basically have to sell the car I drive right now. It’s a integra 99 Milano red it’s my first auto and I love the car and the way it handles and just overall how it feels driving and I just don’t wanna let it go for another one I put work into it and feel like it’s not really worth it to trade it in for a manual one. Just checked out more of your guys vids you got a lot of really sick and helpful car content I definitely subbed 🤟
It’s completely your call, there’s nothing better than modifying your car and making it your own, it’s fun and you can improve parts while doing it. Buying another Integra could come with more issues. If the one you have is issue free I would recommend that you manual swap it👍
Really good video guys, got all the steps in nicely without too much b/s in between. Right to the chase, that is more appreciated than you could imagine. You've earned my sub sirs.
Damn how old are you guys? I considered manual swapping my Integra but it’s a daunting feat so I decided to sell it and buy a factory manual one instead.
We’re both around 16, the car doesn’t get daily driven so it was decided that until I daily it we may as well manual swap it. It wasn’t too bad, integras are easy to work on…
God speed mate, how old are you lads. Haha reason I’m asking is because I’m from California just out of curiosity did y’all learn this in school or just a hobbies of you guys. I also recent purchase an integra 1999 gsr sedan . Previous owner swapped the transmission and motor :( bloody hell really wanted the vetec BAHHHHHH. So what do you recommend amigo swap my tranny and b18 heads ? Or turbo?
We’re both around 16, we have both loved cars all our lives and learnt all of our stuff out of school. I would go for gsr head full n/a build if you’re after the vtec noises like me😂, good luck for your build!
Hey man thanks for the video, honestly one of the most useful ones I've found Did you put a parts list somewhere? Because I plan on doing this to my 01 someday and would really appreciate any help I can get
Thanks for the support, here’s the parts list (may have missed a few things..) Manual swap parts list Clutch, flywheel (recommend lightened flywheel) Slave cylinder Master cylinder Clutch lines Gearbox Throw out bearing Clutch pedal Manual brake pedal (or cut auto one) Shift linkages Manual half shaft Gearbox fluid Clutch fluid Hasport auto to manual gearbox mount Manual starter motor All associated nuts and bolts Manual rear t mount Manual engine/trans brace Dremel to cut floor *remove interlock relay when doing swap* Manual gearbox torque mount Manual shift boot (not needed) Manual cluster (not needed)
Had a question with the wiring portion of this swap. Got everything hooked up and tried to turn the key but the starter wont turn over. Thinking its the clutch safety switch? How did you guys wire that?
Australian Integras did not have a clutch safety switch, the only way i can think is to just clip the wires and run them together to bypass the switch.
Please continue this series because you guys are doing a good job
Part 2 coming soon...

Great video. Very detailed. I plan to do the same . Will use this as a guid. Awsome work! Thanx!👍
Broo that integra is so clean and pristine, so well taken care of. I can tell you are really passionate about working on cars. Acura is so awesome

C2pec motoring , makes a plug-in play harness now for Auto to Manual swap , so no need to do a bunch of cutting and slicing for reverse or ignition.

We’re glad to hear, thanks!
Love that you’re reading from the book man not many people would learn from the right source like that
Best way to do it!

Do you guys have a list of all the parts and bits you needed for the swap? And do you use different fly wheel bolts?
I will try and find the list, MUST USE MANUAL FLYWHEEL BOLTS! Do not use automatic drive plate bolts
Where do you guys get the Manuel transmission and does it matter where the transmission comes from
Got the gearbox from another integra, you can use any fwd hydro b series gearbox for the swap
What book are you referring to for the swap!?
Haynes repair manual, has articles on automatic removal and manual install.
@@ValveHouseAU wow
You can just remove the top ball joint to get the axel out , much easier

I had a quick question, did you end up switching out the ecu for the factory manual ecu?
Stayed with the auto aussie OBD1 ecu and had no issues.
The book in this video does it tell you how to manual swap ?
It does not but it tells you how to remove auto gearbox and install manual so there are some hurdles you need to overcome
@@ValveHouseAUoh alright thanks! what book is it? We're planning on swapping my friends car
Question: Where did you get the hardware for the transmission? Or did it come with it?
Came with the other parts that were purchased! A lot of the hardware can also be reused auto->manual
I was like what gear box?
It's got a rack and pinion.
Oh that's right you guys call transmission and trans-axles, gear boxes.
Typical Aussies haha
Did you replace your passenger axle for a manual axle? Or is the auto axle same as auto??
Auto is the same as manual👍
Any chance I could DM you guys for help? Need to send a picture to ask a question.
For sure! shoot us a message on our instagram - @valvehouse
Hi Mate, How Much All It Cost To Convert?
Around $1500AUD at the time

Hello, what tramsmicion do you recommend me to buy for my automatic to manual car? My engine is a b20 soy de panamá
An s80 is probably best but you can go for any b series transmission👍
Does anyone know if a 2door integra transmission will fit a 4 door integra?
The 2 door trans will fit in a 4 door👍
Did you re use your starter??
You will need a manual starter otherwise it will not sit flush with the casing
