Just to help you out a bit, their name is pronounced like “psych-ers” although I don’t completely understand the meaning behind it 😅 and I saw Andy and Jas talk about this video and how it’s actually called “Goblin House” in Korean and the premise of goblins is that if you are on their good side, only good things will come to you (money, cars, fun) but if you are on their bad side well, you don’t want to be on a goblins bad side to say the least! And in this video, Xikers concept is that they are goblins and if you are on their side, good things will come your way, you’ll have some good music and a fun time. I like your interpretation too!! I just wanted to add some context I found super helpful too!
"Psych" was a pretty common thing to say back when I was growing up (80s and 90s) when you were tricking someone, so that bit plays in really well when it comes to pronunciation. In Western culture, we tend to have a very different idea of "goblin" so most Korean goblin concepts are reworded when it comes to Western releases; Korean dokkaebi can be helpful while doing it in a very playful way... likewise, they can also torment, if that's what they feel like doing. In this case of this video, I see it as them putting some spice into the man's life, because he looks miserable at the start of it. Xikers did a reaction to the MV, and they're just adorable and priceless.

For those that don't understand the video: In Korean, the title is Dokkaebi House. Dokkaebi (Korean goblins) are nature spirits/gods that can inhabit objects and have special powers. They can be mischievous and can also be helpful. They're associated with blue flame, so it may be that the blue flames around the man in some shots are the members in their natural form. A lot of the lyrics are actually from Korean kids songs about goblins.
The guy won prizes and money cause that's what Goblins give you.
aren't the brooms also tokkebi related where they enchant/ inhabit items (usually household items like a broom, but in tokkebi: the lonely god it was a sword)

goblins aren’t inherently bad like you’re saying. they’re just tricksters and mischievous. you might say this helped the businessman by pulling him out of his boring routine and showing him how to be human again. basically showing him his dream for him.
I am so incredibly proud of Xikers. KQ has done an incredible job of making sure their idols are ready. I saw them at the Chicago show and I was blown away.

Another Reaction video talked about how deokkabi in Korean folklore are goblins who just want to play. If you play with them, they’ll reward you. If you don’r, they’ll play tricks on you.
So the many toys, money and gifts like the car was what he was winning. But I think that the concept set around them telling us “if you stick with us, we’ll reward you greatly” which is such a cool concept for their debut.
This is why I love Ateez, KQ and now Xikers; there's always a deeper meaning to the music and the mv. You can make sick shots for a mv, but it's just so much more powerful when there is more meaning behind it. Same goes for lyrics etc.!

I had the exact same reaction, I had no idea what was going on but I absolutely LOVED IT. Since I didn't know what to expect, every edit/vfx/transition/etc left me SHOOK. Also the rickroll had me rolling 😂😂😂
Xikers is pronounced "saikers", which is the combination of x and "hikers." I believe the lore is that the members are travelling (or "hiking") through time and space in search of coordinates, hence the X. The coordinates represents their dreams/goals/purpose in life. GUYS CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG KQ LORE IN GENERAL CONFUSES ME 😭

They lore is actually about goblins because they are goblins. Tricky House´s reall name (translate name from Korean) is Goblin´s house. Goblins are know for pranks and tricks
@@iamgabca429 The concept is about goblin. The lore however could be like how the op said, a story of them finding coordinate for their dream or smthg. Yk, it's like Ateez's, the concept is pirates, while the lore is to find the treasure (teenagers' dream, love, friendship, being alive with emotions). For now it's still blurry how it goes for xikers since this is only the debut.
Wasn't there something about everyone is given a path to follow with coordinate to find and those without this path is mark with an X
That's why Tricky call the kids to his house so they can find their path and trick them ?

From what i understand these korean goblins love to 'play' or maybe tricking on THE person they chose play with. Goblins would give you good stuff if you play with them and gosh you just dont wanna be on their bad side. So that business man was the one chosen by xikers to play with them and then how him at the beginning of the mv seems lost but he looked more sober after playing with the goblins WHICH IS SO CLEVER OF KQ TO HAVE AMAZING LORE FRO THEIR GROUPS 😭

Dokaebbi aren’t always bad news. They are mischievous and can be helpful too. Basically if they choose you, you have to play and dance with them and if you do they give you good fortunes (the crane machine winnings, the car). If you don’t play with them they give you misfortunes. This guy is playing with them and having the time of his life though he’s exhausted. At the end, the dokaebbi turn into brooms and the guy plops down from how tired he is.

Even as a non-editor, there were some transitions and edits that made me go, "Cool!" (the spin, the cell phone, the clothing - you'll know them when you see them). I think you'd appreciate it on an even deeper level.

the thing with Dokkaebi is that they are goblins that want to play with humans and when the human do play with them they gain good luck however when they don't that is when they are bad news as they will torment you. 100% my take: According to what I've read, dokkeabi can be mischievous or helpful, so I believe while it looks like they're being mischievous, they're being mischievous in a helpful way. The man is working so late that no one is left on the subway by the time he leaves work. He looks stuck in the daily grind of life. In the first chorus, they say, "Let's dance together. Let's play together. Don't fall asleep.", so I think exposing him to music, the arcade, dancing, and the carnival is their attempt to help him remember what it feels to enjoy life again. At the end of the bridge, they say, "Tell me what you want. Tell me what you need." and a car appears. I think they gave him what they sensed he wanted. The man smiles ear to ear as he drifts around the parking lot. Minjae's last words are "don't forget." This could have double meaning: 1) "Don't forget" it's our time now (we've debuted). 2) "Don't forget" to have fun and enjoy your life (within the context of the MV and maybe to us as well). I think they left when they felt they had accomplished their mission. So, the underlying meaning may be if you listen to xikers music/spend time with us you'll enjoy your life more. Finally, because goblins are known to inhabit household items like tools and brooms, the brooms surrounding him at the end are likely proof he hadn't been dreaming--he had actually encountered 10 goblins.
X, when placed at the beginning of a wordi, is often pronounced as the Z sound in English, like xylophone. Korean doesn't have a Z sound. In the case of xikers, the Z sound is replaced with ss--ssaikos. Most people are pronouncing it with an S sound (sikers/psychers) because that's how they hear the members pronounce it, but zikers is also a reasonable English pronunciation.
