    Isn't it amazing how tall some grasses/weeds grow!
    Loved it when you destroyed the tall stuff lol.
    Nice trimmer, thanks for the review.

    Took delivery of mine today. Nice tool, but it ought to be, for the price. Very quiet, very smooth; it's gonna be fun using it. This is replacing a Honda HHT25 string trimmer, and while the Honda is a very nice trimmer, I won't miss it at all.

      Your gonna love it. I have not needed to go past the first power setting. It’s kind of remarkable that it thought me I really never needed that much power on the gas. Setting 1 and I pull the trigger to max. Don’t need the variable option.

    • @jmljml5065

      @@CityScapesLawnCare I noticed that. I also noticed that the low speed setting at its highest speed is fast enough to reliably advance the line every time you bump it. With a gas unit, they usually advise you to go to max throttle when advancing line. I thought perhaps I'd have to be in the second or third setting to advance line; not the case.

      Awesome tool, go look at my latest review. Just picked up the FCA 135 blade edger, this one is a beast, love seeing the rooster tail from an edger.

    How long were you strumming for? I'm thinking of getting one but am unsure how long the battery actually lasts in practice. 45 minutes just isn't enough.

    • @CityScapesLawnCare
      @CityScapesLawnCare  2 года назад +2

      Lol, I’m able to do at least 12 homes of normal trimming. I get 26 min of run time on setting 1. Remember run time is actual squeezing of the trigger so you will be surprised of how long it lasts. I’m using the AP300s $249 which is there largest capacity battery. 3.9 lbs definitely on the heave side.

      you lucky i have 3 ap300s batteries and but here in portugal i pay 280 euros each.

      I get 10 homes out of one 300s on my 135r trimmer. I also just got the kombi and will be using that to replace my 131r kombi. I love it

    Thinking about getting a AP200 for it. Don't need the runtime of the 300S and I think the balance would be better. Have you tried it with a 200?

    • @CityScapesLawnCare
      @CityScapesLawnCare  2 года назад

      200 is definitely less weight. Stihl recommends the AP300. I have the 300 & 300s. Only because I need the longer run times as I do 17 homes a day.

      @@CityScapesLawnCare I tried using mine yesterday with the AP adapter, battery bag w/cord and battery belt...what an improvement. Weight of the 300S is on my waist and off the tool. Balance is perfect. An option for you if you ever get tired of the weight.

      @@jmljml5065 thanks for the tip. Saw that as an option and was thinking for me doing 17 yards a day this maybe more cumbersome putting it on and off so many times a day. May have to rethink this tho.

    How's the throttle control on that...is it even and predictable, or touchy?

    • @CityScapesLawnCare
      @CityScapesLawnCare  2 года назад +3

      Greetings, to answer your question it is variable on all 3 speeds, what I did not expect is that I find myself on the lowest speed and realize power is really not needed to trim gas. unlike the grass we all know we generally just squeeze all the way full power wacking everything in site. I now have 100% control not touchy. Keep it at the lowest speed for normal duties and second speed for edging as you do need a little more power. going to do a long term review at least 4 or 5 months worth to discuss the same issue. Just bought the FCA 135 which i will have a review shortly. Suggest you sub to get this review also bought the HLA135 so good stuff coming soon. cheers!!
