  • @lifetakesflight
    @lifetakesflight 3 года назад +1

    How do you find the motor does with larger wheels? Seems like there would be extra heat generated from doing all that work.

    • @SolRC
      @SolRC  3 года назад

      The brushless is way overkill in this little truck, I have ran a 1500mah 2s for 20 minutes and never broke 140 degrees. That being said it's important to check your temps every run as drive line drag (bearings, lube ) can kill a motor with heat quickly.

      The 3900 kv motor is perfect balance between stunts and speed. I did put a 6400kv motor in it and it went nearly 50 mph before becoming nearly uncontrollable, it also does not rotate nearly as quickly in the air with the high kv motors. Great video! Nice to see someone videoed the upgrade from brushed to brushless. I'm wondering if a 1/16 savox servo will fit in place of the stock 5 wire? Also what pitch pinion or (48p/32p) fit?

    • @SolRC
      @SolRC  4 года назад +1

      Thanks so much for the kind words, i just released part 2 of the 3 part upgrade series for this vehicle . The pinion is 48p, I should have put that in the video, thanks for the heads up. The oem servo measures 28mm x 27mm x 13.25 mm for the steering servo. It is important to get one that fits exactly or use a more permanent adhesive to shim it, as it is a odd servo mount system that has no fasteners that attach to the servo. It is a capture/interference fit mount. The oem servo does not even have flanges to secure it.

    Hey man trying to do the same thing might be a dumb question but I’m guessing you used a dumbo receiver for this upgrade? Thought when I bought my motor/esc combo it would come with a receiver but it didn’t and I can’t use the old one as it’s a 2-1 unit correct? Cheers man and keep making the great vids
