My friends and I did a Junkyard Ways competition in high school. My buddy and his cousin were both farmers, so their dads each had a shop. We did two teams of three, to build a vehicle based on a lawn mower. We built one with a Honda CB175 twin, and the other team built one with a 440 snowmobile engine. We lost, obviously haha. But I will remember how insane the other teams Snapper mower looked hauling @$$ down the highway, and the sound of our engine without any exhaust. When starting it sounded like it was blowing bubbles(boop boop boop boop) before roaring to life and shooting flames out the ports. Better days
This is such an awesome, wholesome project you guys are doing. My dad passed away in December and trust me.. everyone on this project is going to have some of the best memories of this for the rest of your lives. This one really hit home for me. This was a fantastic idea, thank you and great job to everyone involved.
Look up a show from twenty years ago called Junkyard Wars. Made before everything started going to crap(except picture quality, that got WAYYY better).
it's that yellow color when freshly cut, turns a dark orange as it dries and yes it's very hard/dense. good for tools and historically native americans used it for bows
