It's always kinda sad when you come across an old song like this and see they have disbanded/discontinued that long ago too, especially now since it seems like many Touhou music channels have been taken down. Thank you for continuing to upload even after all these years.
One of the most relaxing arranges I think I've ever heard. Closing your eyes while listening to this is so calming! Also, thanks for continuing to upload music from old arrangers that have been forgotten. They might just get some new fans! ^^
It's always a bold choice from an artist to put something like that in the start of a track. Is it like the cockatoo in Citizen Cane? There just to wake you up so you pay attention? Who knows. Really breaks the mood for me right off the bat and in my personal playlists I mercilessly chop parts like that off of any music I listen to. Wouldn't do that to an artists work when I share it here though.
I think it could go into the category of downtempo tbh. Most of the time super slow, ambient even, music and in 2:12 only beginning some kind of more consistent melody, although it is still more for background than main focus.

Having just gotten my hands on some PHOENIX Project albums from 2005, you bet I'll be sharing some o l d arrangements at some point.
