The liberation momnument is here called Kojak. Famous TV series from the 1973 , the main hero detective Kojak was bald and his head looked like this monument.

      It’s definitely a beautiful city!
I left China because I had a medical issue and wanted to go back home to get it taken care of and be with my family. But I’m better now and decided to check out Europe for a while 😁

@@JakeBraymiller Oh!... I'm sorry to hear that and happy that you are well now. I'm French myself, living in France and my project is to share my Art in China, so... I've been years now in preparation, and I feel very confident. Your videos at the time you were there contributed to that confidence, so thank you! Take care of yourself and your loved ones 😌🙏🏾😉✨✨✨✨✨🕊️

you will find 100's of towns like Maribor in Poland, Czech republic, Slovakia, Hungary ..even though Romania's town are not as neat, they do have plenty of charms (check out Sighișoara, Sibiu, Târgu Mureș) ..Slovenia has the edge in terms of cycling though, pretty safe and folks respects cyclists....western Europe was like this...50 years ago, before wokism has taken over LoL

Yeah it definitely has a nice small-town feel to it! Really enjoy it and would love to explore more of these types of cities in Eastern Europe

Slovenia is cleaner, greener, more bike-friendly and safer than all the countries you have mentioned, but also more than most of Europe and the world in general. In regards to environmental policies, Slovenia is actually recycling more than the rest of Europe (just after Germany and Austria) and in regards to nature conservation is also ahead of the Central-Eastern European countries you have mentioned. Compared to the mentioned countries of Central-Eastern Europe, Slovenian cities/towns suffer of less visible poverty and huge class divisions/pay gaps, I think that's quite visible in the public spaces.
Btw, according to the official World Human Development Index, Slovenia is ranked higher than all the mentioned countries (Slovenia 22, while Slovakia 46, Hungary 47, Romania 53), but also higher than some parts of Western Europe such as France, Spain and Italy.
Btw, I really liked Romania when I visited it.

@@JakeBraymiller Slovenia is not Eastern Europe. In that case Austria, parts of Italy... would be as well. Slovenia is mostly Central Europe (historically, geographically, culturally), some parts could be defined as Southern Europe, Southeast Europe and/or Central-Eastern. Eastern Europe? Nope. I mean, what's the connection and similarity between Slovenia and... Moldova, Ukraine?
No offence, but I think it's about time that North Americans start reading a bit about the world they are going to.
And yeah, I would suggest you visiting Ljubljana, Koper or Slovenj Gradec, they are prettier than Maribor.

@@withoutshadowww thanks for sharing your opinion. It is true that Eger, Szombathely, Esztergom in Hungary. Blansko's in the Czech republic or Toruń in Poland were super unsafe and had crap public transport when I visited them LoL..ahahah. Biking yes, Slovenia has the edge as I said, as for safety. most tourists would be very satisfied with with what you get in most Polish/Hungarian or Czech towns.

@@732daven Thanks for sharing your opinion too, but I actually mentioned the official reports, it's not just an impression. When it comes to impressions, I didn't find Szeged super safe actually, but such a place ("not super safe") does not exist in Slovenia. The statistics and the official reports are proving that, after all.
You said that "Western Europe has done such a thing (bike infrastructure or what?) 50 years ago"? That's not true. Maybe by Western Europe you think of Denmark and the Netherlands, I don't know what Western Europe you are talking about... The UK, Norway, France, Italy... not for sure. After all, Ljubljana got an award to be the greenest capital, not Warsaw, Budapest or Bratislava for sure.

Langweilig, öde und ärmlich die Stadt, abgesehen von den ganzen Neureichen hier mit ihren dicken Autos. Typisch ehemaliger Sozialismus.
