My main list includes a Shadowsword. It's been so good. What's also great is because GSC has so many units you can deploy the shadowsword last and most of the time have line of sight on something they deployed 1st turn. Love it
I change it up now and then with characters but basically.. 1 nexus, 3 Primus, 4x20 Neos(attach Primus), 2x10 acos, 2x Ridgerunners and the Shadowsword. Should be 2000. I've been trialing the nexus on a 20 neo squad and putting one Primus with a block of 10 acos to really make sure they kill something big when they use the demos. At least the nexus can then give the free strat to the Neos
@@Rinzler86 no need to apologise. Neos I always take Seismic cannons and grenade launchers. They are too good not to. If I'm playing against lots of heavy tanks etc I may have one of the 20 blocks of neo take mining lasers but rarely. For the acos, always take demo charges and hand flamers for the others. The demos are probably the strongest punch in the army. The play is.... Turn 2 deep strike. Use a strat on them to drop in 3" away. Then shooting phase use another strat to get +1 BS and extra -AP. Then blow it to hell. Extra spicy if you hit the target with a Ridgerunner first (go check out it's ability). Or even sweeter...add a Primus if what you are hitting is really beefy (see ability). Remember your army rule. Anything that drops in from deepstrike gets sustained hits.
Guard vehicle orders are at a premium, so looking at what guard players discuss what can operate independently of them is a good place to look for potential Brood Brothers too! Hellhound seems nice. Cheap, tough, flamer weapon that doesn't care about low BS from lack of orders, ability that denies enemy cover bonus. Also notably applies to all it's weapons, so you could throw heavy bolters on it to sling that debuff further away. Since it's a debufff instead of an Astra Militarum keyword buff it will help all of your units instead of just brood brothers (unlike Sentinels or Exterminator Russ) The default Leman Russ Battetank has built in rerolls, so it can operate better without orders than most tanks if you send it to brawl over objectives. The Vanquisher isn't great but is cheap enough it might be ok as a distraction carnifex.
I literally had this conversation about gaurd vehicles with my fellow competitive gsc players like robin. Cheers mate love your ideas I take your stuff and throw them into tourny lists all the time. keep it up.
the command squads don't do a lot for brood brothers as their main purpose is orders which don't really work outside of Imperial Guard armies. I would skip them and have raw power instead
Great video! I really enjoyed it. It would be awesome if you could make more of these videos in the future, and maybe include some example army lists that utilize the combinations you show in the video. It would provide better context and help us understand how to apply these strategies in our games. Keep up the good work!
The way they have worded Brood Brothers this edition (in addition to the kroot detachment tau got) gives me hope that GSC will have a brood brothers themed detachment that could possibly give them orders back by enabling voice of command to apply to GSC officers (maybe even as an enhancement that the detachment unlocks for brood brothers), but more likely the stratagems will just specify "Genestealer cults or Astra Militarum" units and could even utilize other keywords on the AM datasheets
I'm in a pod league set at 1000 pts... I've been using a Wyvern for my Brood brothers addition and it has served me very well the last few games. It doesn't have a serious anti tank capability, but has been a very effective anti infantry tool. The suppression ability has actually saved my bacon a few times and whilst not intended for anti armor, it has been decently effective vs. Chimera and lighter vehicles.😊😊
In the group I play with, we have a Aeldari player, a Drukhari player, an IG player who really likes Valkyries, and a Chaos Player who really likes...I'm blanking on the proper name at the moment, but I want to say "Helldrakes". The flying Daemon Engine. I NEED to bring that Hydra.

I know this is a little late, but a thing that might be good from the guard might be the tarantula battery. Free repeatable overwatch with 2 heavy bolters isnt nothing, and up to 6 heavy bolters or lascannons for 120pts with free double overwatch is starting to get somewhere.
these videos are a beyond helpful resource for someone looking to get into gsc (me) im making a 1000 point list and i've set my brood brothers up as kasrkin (heavy shooty infantry + orders) heavy weapons team (indierect fire + BIG GUNS!!! + covering fire) cadian shock troops (for sticky objectives and i can blob them in with the heavy weapons team for 4+ hit overwatches on covering fire) i would take the basilisk but for 1000 points its just a little awkward, and i love my big shooty infantry lol
Even though it’s probably still not worth it to take the Hydra, as a Tau player I can tell you that the fly keyword is EVERYWHERE at least for vehicles and most battle suits.
you could do! I recommend having t-shirts and clubs. However, be aware that ogryns are on 40mm bases while aberrants are on 32mm. Some people like the bases to be correct (especially tournament players)
Brood brothers? You mean the tank rentals? Jokes aside, i often take a rapier laser destroyer, some krieggers, and a Leman Russ, great way to use the last few points
A friend of mine took 2nd at 2 rtts and had I think 1 loss at Atlanta this year by taking gsc with 3x3 tarantulas because of their excessive overwatch abilities
Do you have a 1k-2k-3k list with all your tips ? like what would be the CVC GSC optimal list ? Currently building a list so would be fun to see whats in your brain :P
I never play a consistent list, I am always changing it up and using all my units eventually so nothing sits on the shelf for long. For Brood brothers at 1k I include cadians and a basilisk (usually), at 2k: shadowsword and scout sentinel (fun), or 2 basilisks, scout sentinel, a weapon teams (lascanons) and 2 legend quad launchers
thank you (im on your discord as well) i was just wondering from someone who understands more the synergies that gsc and imperial have. Im imperilleterate :3@@ChristianVonCarmian40kVtuber
I prefer the Basilisk, I think it is more likely to do serious damage and the reduction to movement is important in a game all about movement to score points. The -1 to hit is irritating from the Wyvern but not going to mean a lot unless on a low BS horde (which should have taken a lot of casualties anyway)

Glad to be able to help
Favourite Brood Brother unit is a Leman Russ Demolisher. Stick it in strategic reserve. Bring it on my opponent’s table edge with my Jackals turn 3.
Me watching this with with little knowledge of actually how to play: "Mhm. Yes. I concur. A stroke of genius my good man!"
Me who knows nothing about guards beyond Kreig want to die:
I concur
sorry if I didn't mention your favorite Brood Brother unit - but let me know what it was
How about the stormblade?
that works! Very cheap and re-roll to hit at half range is very valuable but the model is hard to get
Don't play GSC, but am building a list for fun! Thoughts on the Cadian Command Squad as a Brood Brothers unit?

Any anti fly weapons are excellent into many tau lists. Since most battlesuits still have the fly keyword leftover from 9th

16:20 or if you want to make them nobles in a world with bikes that have been called to arms if you want to do some kitbashing

since the Imperial Guard units haven't changed, it works for now
