I think the idea of the separate sleeping area is genius. Being in a small area for a period of time with someone and then having a space to unwind is good for mental health.

@@xthexskrillex Imagine trying to sleep next to someone who had a loud snore or tosses and turns all night. Personally I think so many marriages lasted so long in time gone past was due to twin beds.

@@xthexskrillex In my teen years my dad and mom ( off and on relationship) didn't get along so my mom, sister and I slept in a double bed ( sideways) . The biggest thrill was moving out and getting my own twin bed again. Sometimes a good nights rest is better then someone hanging over you all night long.

That’s because North America has wider roads and more space . Japan has to have tiny campers it’s too dense .

On our last Japan trip (Dec 2024) I mustered the courage to rent a car (a cute Toyota Roomy) and drive in Japan with my wife and 8yo son. Had a blast driving from Kamogawa to Narita. In the future I would really like to try RV camping in Hokkaido!

Great! I wouldn’t be able to enjoy it, though. I couldn’t do it without a toilet. Due to a prostrate condition, I have to get up 4 to 6 times to go to the bathroom over night. Other than that, the RV seems very cozy.
Ok, does depend to some extent on bladder control for sure, and also of the personal relationship of those in the vehicle, but, condition or not, some folks, and I reckon it could be many, just don't want to be dealing with the smell, potentially slightly embarassing proximity and dreaded emptying of a toilet, be it cassette or composting, in the context of a camper and choose instead to limit themselve to camping spots where facilities are available and also don't mind walking a few steps, yes (eek) outside, to answer nature's call.

こうゆう日本国産🚚ベースのライトキャブコンなら断熱材も入っていて☀夏はエアコン⛄冬はFFヒーターさえ入れておけば暑さ寒さはしのげるが軽トラックの荷台に乗せる木造では断熱材を入れないと夏は熱く冬は寒くて車中泊所ではなくなるよ
