I’m not surprised by all of the racist people in America. Evangelical preachers need to preach the true gospel of God. The first commandment says to Love the Lord with all your heart, mind, body and soul. The second commandment says to love thy neighbor as thou self. If these so call evangelical preachers were to preach the true gospel of God to their congregants we wouldn’t have so many hypocrites in these churches. God has no partiality of people.

The fact it’s even close is a sobering and saddening realization that too many Americans have disdain for others.
The disparity is contrived. We are making different decisions because we are inundated with different information. Sinclair, Cox, FOX, the Koch Bros minions are adept at proliferating false information, effectively poisoning the well. The red states hear different stories and are fed different perspectives than are the blue states.
We want the same things for each other. There are good people in both camps. We are cursed to fight each other in the service of the overlords, the. 01% who tell us, to their own benefit, that it is those most like us that are our "enemies"... Instead of the one in ten thousand who take all but the crumbs and leave us to fight for them.
If just 2 cents of tax on dollars over $50m would pay off the student loans, provide free education for all, and help fund much else? What would Eisenhower era taxes of 91% on over $2m provide for us all? Everyone eats before anyone gets 2nds (or fifths, or some obscene example of greed at the trough?)

In Australia voting is compulsory and it goes to the person with the most votes. Elections always occur on a weekend and have polling stations EVERYWHERE. The longest line can be 30 minutes and that’s only because you’re probably voting at midday so that you can buy a P&C sausage sizzle. I’m so grateful for our democracy because there is zero time, energy, or money spent to suppress votes or to have our votes counted. Compulsory voting and popular votes mean everyone’s voice and vote is treated equally.

Sure, recounts are often held for close-run seats, as they should. But not the sort of mayhem the USA see,s to regularly find itself involved in at either a state of federal level. For thirty odd years, I have tried to explain to my American friends, that the compulsory voting that we have here in Australia, is not an imposition on my freedoms but a guarantee of my democracy.
Having a relatively small electoral base, our founding legislators sought to implement a system that could neither be manipulated nor distorted.
Every Australian citizen votes and every vote is equal.
For a country that claims to be a defining democracy, it would appear that many facets are flawed, from voter eligibility, voter interference to
ununified state laws and requirements.
Nobody in the US seems to understand that postal ballots work effectively and efficiently in every developed legitimate democracy in the world.

And if you do that, then none of the mail in votes, absentee ballots, and provisional ballots can be counted either--provisions have to be verified before they can be counted and that also can't be done until the polls close. You just don't seem to understand our system.

other countries where democracy works via popular vote are much smaller and have different forms of govs. From what I recall their province and fed gov work differently from ours.
Also doing a popular vote would not represent the entire population of the US by siding with densely populated urban cities. And yeah even though the larger cities don't always vote the same way, they usually do due to higher education, financial background among other things.
