I love this set. A $30 battle pack with both fighting armies is such a better value than one army $20 battle packs. I hope they continue this, I would love an OT and ST battle pack like this.
This is an excellent battle pack. My only gripe is they didn't include an accessory pack. It's just really weird considering all other battle packs and sets lately have included them. Mandalorian battle pack, AT-TE, both prior clone battle packs to name a few. We've gotten blue, gray, and orange, so it would have been logical to include the black accessory pack with this one.
Yes please! Bring back the black accessories! I tried giving my Commander Fox the old Black Visor but it didn't fit. The newer Mold seems to hold better and is a bit longer.
Agree 100% Especially since this would have been a great opportunity to include those nice binoculars from last year's 501st pack. Real missed opportunity and very odd since the helmets all have the holes.
After buying this set, the nostalgia hit me when i built the clone turret and speeder, took me back to when I went to walmart with my folks and they said i could get a toy for ten bucks, i bought the clone battlepack.......man i miss those days
I live in Australia. The 75280 501st battle pack was barely available here. The 187th republic fighter tank was barely available here. This set has already gone on back order. I ordered 3 as fast as I could and the moment i did, they went out of stock. I am REALLY glad i made my move because this set is great and this review CLEARLY shows it!!!
As a fellow Australian I completely agree. It's why I think the 332nd battle pack and the 501st battle pack are a decent pairing because if you swap the helmets from the officer and specialist with 2 of the 332nd troopers you get 2 regular 501st troopers.
I love that Jang acknowledges these sets are made for kids and normal people who will buy one or two and not the rich online weirdo who flexes of kids that he can spend thousands on the same set to be cool. Thats how normal people collect.
This is what we've been asking for, I applaud Lego for doing lot's of this stuff recently! Plenty good battle packs and nice non-licenced sci-fi and fantasy stuff are great recently!
The value in this set is great.. it’s going to look ridiculous here in Australia with that on the shelf for $49 next to the 332nd battle packs with 4 figures for $39 (!!!).
the price per piece is a bit off, but i think the play and figure value is there. it’s great to see b2s again after years of them being completely absent, and to get three in the same set that’s already designed to be army built is so much better than like, a set of three b1s and a single b2 like how some clone battle packs are set up. it’s so good to get a bunch of generics and a few specialized troops for both sides in one set, i hope i can find room in my budget for at least two of these.
I think calling the price reasonable is underselling it. This is one of the best sets for the money in recent years, bar none. With battlepacks at $20, for just $10 more you get more builds, and five droids. Even compared to the $30 501st battlepack, you get more usable builds and 3 extra droids here, of a type we haven’t gotten in a decade. It’s crazy that with all the inflation of the last few years, we actually got a comparable set that is better value than one from 2020.
I’m so glad you haven’t faltered with your reviews. You haven’t confirmed to appease any one group. You criticise, you praise, all unbiased and within reason! And it’s so clear that it completely comes from a place of love for the product!!
Recently got 2 of these sets just to have some figures to fill out dioramas/seats/etc in future sets, and the more I think about, the more I realize that this is one of the best sets lego has made for figure massing. It's very well done in terms of proportions, as it takes into consideration how common B1's are across many sets and focuses more on the B2's. Octuptarra is nice and better than the original one by a country mile. I hope they take the success of this battle pack and run with it, making future dual-sided packs. An Empire and Rebels one would be awesome, having a 4v4 with rebel and empire soldiers, with a small walker(maybe even an AT-PT) for empire and a little speeder tank for rebels. Another could one would be a geonosis droid/phase 1 clone combo pack. Similar proportions, but with the sandy brown B1's with the old antenna backpacks, a dwarf spider(love those guys), 2 normal B2's and 1 launcher-arm B2, 3 generic phase 1 clones and a generic commander or pilot in a little command station or small vehicle. Lots of potential with these little sets for filling those empty seats and given your favorite factions something to shoot at(for me, it's the CIS, but sadly Lego does not make CIS sets as much as they do clone sets, so I have to MOC most things.)
I still can't believe it's only $30 for that variety and number of side-builds. After years of very limited $20 battlepacks, this feels like a huge good decision from Lego.
I'm very happy jang doesn't rant for 5 minuets about how helmet holes are ruining sets, lego star wars youtubers are starting to become really pricky so its nice having someone who isn't a elitist over small things
I love this set , the amount of content in it and the nostalgia of it. Only thing I think is wrong, is the lack of accessories. They could have added black or gray accessories for the clones. I have no problem with the holes, but you might as well put them to use.
B2 back attachment piece would have been nice to allow for a B2 rocket trooper to happen in the future. Little bit of re-deco and a brick-built jet pack and voila, “premium” B2 to include in a future set.
I really wish for the B2 that they did what you said and either closed off the back or given us a stud connection if they were going to redesign the mold
I feel like the playability could have been improved with a accesory pack. Lego literally redesigned the helmet to have quad-holes just to fit with that visor mould, the least they could do is use it.
aside from some little gripes (helmet holes, lack of accessories) i think this set is almost perfect. my biggest issue is combining the factions into one pack. it forces the army builder to have both. what if i just want clones? still a step in the right direction from lego... maybe theyll get it some day
It's so interesting, because in my experience, the B2s were a lot more durable than the B1s. I never had a B2 Super Battle Droid break, but I had several B1s start to get loose and I think two of them broke.
This is a very good set. I love how it comes with a variety of minifigures. This set is definitely something children and adult collectors can really enjoy. Worth every penny.
I need it. I definitely need it! This whole set is a giant nostalgia bomb for me. Minifigs are top, builds are interesting! I love the Octuptarra! The STAP and the speeder and turret are a nice nod to the original Battle Pack.
A good and solid set. The B2 is redesigned very well where it still looks very similar to the old design but improved and modernized. Very well done by the team at LEGO.
This just seems like really good value. New moulds, some well liked classic designs, and a decent part bag? I think you're actually underselling how rare that is in a 2024 licensed set.
Yeah I just think that this should be normal. This should be what we expect. I don't think the company that rakes in billions of dollars per year with a B should be deeply praised for making a decent product at a decent price.
Tbh, the only thing I can think of complaining about is that one of the clones isn't a 327th trooper like the original clone battle pack to complete the homage, but obviously, thats the smallest of nitpicks.
Agreed. On the one hand it would be awesome to have gotten a 327th trooper in this set as an homage to the original battle pack, but at the same time I like that we get 3 plain troopers because it just makes it easier to bulk up your plain p2 army.
That'd be a nice extra, but replacing a basic I think would be a downgrade at the moment, since this style of basic clone hasn't been done for ages and getting two instead of three would mean an army builder needed to purchase 50% more packs to hit whatever their basic clone target was.
I absolutely love the look of this set I want at least 3 of them! I want to get the new red gunship and then have three of these sets and just make a clones vs droids battle scene!
I wonder if Lego is selling different figures in the US from a different factory than the ones we get here in the EU it is once against especially noticeable with the Coruscant Guard figure the red is a bit "flakey" and "blurry" noticeable on the red chin strip or the 2 red strips on the thighs the ones I got are literally perfect, they are crisp and clear noticed the same with many other figures you showcased, comparing them directly to the ones in front of me
I recently got the atte will almost certainly get this to go with it. Probably wouldve preferred a slightly better speeder design or maybe a small walker instead but overall a decent set

Bought a Lego magazine last week, because additionally to a Mandalorian Pilot i comes with a bunch of helmet attached that would look cool on the clones from this set or at least on the commando

Helmet holes really don’t bother me too much but I really really miss phase one clone troopers💀

Not a fan of the 4+ set looking speeder. The rest seems pretty fine for people who collect these sort of things.
The fact that they gave the Super Battle Droid an updated more accurate torso mold is enough for me to want to purchase this pack.
