    I was 11 when this came out. At the time,my only familiarity with the Beatles was their greatest hits so this was my first exposure to many of their songs and was part of my falling in love with them. The stand outs for me was "Got to Get You Into My Life" and "Oh Darlin".

      @Arjeebee APPRECIATE you watching and commenting. Alot depends on one's age when seeing this film for the first time. I'm glad it got you into the Beatles. Perhaps that was it's intent, I don't know. Keep rockN and Beatles 4ever .

    Hi, I had discovered your channel and saw you did a video on the Sgt. Pepper soundtrack. I saw the movie on VHS and found it to be really bizarre. I saw it twice, actually. George Burns singing Fixing A Hole, Oh Mama!

    I have a sealed copy, an open one and a white label promo. "All This and World War 2" is similar but better. A very good video. I enjoyed it. Nice summary of a forgotten LP.

      @kevinvinylkollector6996 Thanks for the compliment. Sealed promo, very nice. I'm researching ALL THIS AND WORLD WORLD II. It's concept didn't work but yes the music is better. Keep rockN and thanks again

    13 year old me saw the movie in the theater, and bought the record. The only redeemable parts are Aerosmith's 'Come Together' cover and *maybe* EWF's 'Got to Get You Into My Life' cover.

    It's a very good collection of Beatles covers and produced by George Martin. Two years earlier there had already been a film and album using Beatles songs called All This and World War II featuring Elton John, Rod Stewart, Peter Gabriel, Jeff Lynne, Bee Gees, Ambrosia, Leo Sayer, Tina Turner and Bryan Ferry.

    The Bee Gees were at their peak. Don’t make more of it, than actually happened. Nothing wrong with covering The Beatles. Listen to Earth, Wind & Fire “Got Yo Get Into My Life” & Aerosmith “Come Together”.

    Hey Tony, I'm a Beatles tragic but I've tended to avoid this LP like the plague having seen some of that movie. I did hear "Because" which has the wierd combo of Alice Cooper's 'evil' vocal backed by the sweet Bee Gees harmonies. A very bizarre juxtaposition. It was included on the Alice Cooper CD boxed set. Frampton's career tanked with the combination of this film and his "I'm In You" LP. The Bee Gees had the double whammy of this film & that disco backlash bonfire which targeted them in particular which was unfair in hindsight. EW & F & Aerosmith did great versions of their songs.
    I tend to have the mindset of if I want to hear Beatles music then I will listen to The Beatles themselves. That's just me. Love and respect your input though. Interesting back story you told. Cheers mate. 👍😊

    This is how i was introduced to “Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”, If it hadn’t been for my dad bringing home the Beatles 1962-1966 Red Album when i was 9 going on 10 in 1980 (the worst year to discover the Beatles😢) ….i just don’t know. 😖 The biggest question i have about the movie/soundtrack was why did they try to incorporate songs from “Abbey Road” along with “Sgt Pepper…” while completely ignoring the White Album?? 🤷‍♂️ Thats the 1000$ question to me.
    Aside from all that my favorite cover if not version of “Oh Darling” is by Robin Gibb. If this movie didnt exist, it would’ve made a perfect bside to one of “Saturday Night Fever” singles… It at least belong on a Compilation album.

      @derekroberts6654 Thanks for watching and contributing to the discussion. Robert stigwood only had the rights to 29 beatles songs. He didn't have rights for the WHITE ALBUM. THANKS for sharing your beatles memories.

      That’s why if you asked me what my favorite Beatles album is.. i can’t really answer that because if feel if this movie never existed then maybe “Sgt. Pepper…” would’ve been but one of the reasons why the White Album is special is because it was untouched by this movie. But i still don’t understand “Sgt Pepper’s connection with “Abbey Road”, i never really considered it to be sequel to “Sgt Pepper” but apparently Stigwood did.

      @derekroberts6654 NO connection,
      Except beatles songs. The real problem was the bizzare movie and flat performances for the majority of the songs.

    I think Polythene Pam sounds better on this album, with the descending chords played more heavy.

    You can't call that a "Beatles" album just because their songs are on it. The standout track is Aerosmith's take on _Come Together,_ but the movie itself was horrid and best forgotten. The album was just collateral damage.

      @@LPS-R-US I saw the movie as a child... pretty terrible. The album has its good points, and some bad ones from what I remember...I.E.; George Burns version of 'Fixing a Hole'. I've heard it because my mom was both a Beatles fan and, in those days, a Bee Gees fan. So I've heard it many times as a child, it's just been many years ago.🙂
