Cameron McAdoo's Track Etiquette, Revving and Roosting Weekend Warriors | Racer X Films

- Cameron McAdoo was back on the bike the day Kris Keefer tested the 2025 Kawasaki KX450, and Cam pulled up for an impromptu conversation about pros sharing the track with local riders. What's the proper, polite way to rev? What happens when you try to pull in behind and keep up? How heated can it get? McAdoo gives you both perspectives. The one with his helmet on, and the one back at the box van when he realizes everyone pays the same entry fee!

Such a great interview. Just two guys talking story. This is what moto is all about.
for real. track days are the best
Cameron McAdoo is such a good human. That was fun to watch.
agree the double rev is always a polite rev
That was an all time great interview
These are the interviews we want to see! Keep em coming!
Great to see Magoo back out on the track
Great idea for a vid Keefer!
I like McAdoo more every single interview. He's got such a great perspective.
Only kooks at my local track rev. Makes no sense to me. Either pass if your faster or you need the practice finding new lines anyways. If the guy starts blocking or cross jumping, then by all means give him the biz
Cameron is awesome!
Please bring more Keefer stories!!
if a pro cant get past an electrician having a gallop on he's day off without revving then he shouldn't be on a factory team
Really enjoyed this one, get back on that horse Cam🤘
Fun interview, and yes RIP Sunrise/Racetown.
You’re telling me u can’t choose another line and zip right by the average joe? And if the guy is barely slower then it’s s good practice. Switch up the lines. The only time i would rev is if they’re cutting across the track and dipping right infront of me. At that point the rev is a “yo u just cut me off” rev
Jimmy albertson did it to me at a local track and was even yelling. How about pass the guy if he’s that slow…
Unfortunately for some, the faster they get the bigger the ego
Yeah I was wondering the same, you're a top pro, how are you behind these "garbage" guys for multiple laps??
@@colefredericks2869 guess it’s called entitlement
@DomCo66 well at first I thought the way he snapped and said "let me finish my story" was kinda dickish, but they insist they're friends, so maybe I'm reading into nothing, but it did seem like something an entitled person would say, so I would tend to agree
@colefredericks2869 not everyone was raised with manners and proper social skills
great stuff from a rider i haven't typically liked, and yup the double rev, is the normal way to let someone know.
Great topic ... Its REALLY game on surfing nowadays... What hap?pened to share the waves
Cameron is an awesome guy
Great vid, couple of elite level personalities rt there
I get it but let’s be honest, Tomac wouldn’t rev an amateur. He would just ride around the outside like they weren’t even there.
Super on point with this. Definitely needed to b done!!!
Really great interview!
Just pass the guy. Sheesh a real pro is going to be going 20+ seconds a lap faster than a random local
Actually, the SoCal locals are damn fast. Guys like Keefer and others get revved out of the way, and they are hauling. There are also extremely fast national off-road guys (and women) who test out at Glen Helen frequently because of the high speeds. And of course, there are fast amateurs like Mikayla Nielsen, etc. Then the factory dudes show up and lay waste to everyone. Meanwhile, I'm on the vet track, staying out of the way.
Dumbest comment ever you’re a true keyboard warrior aren’t ya
Yes but there taking there line which will save them lap times
@@caycehowe remember when Keefer tried to qualify for a natty a few years ago? He was like 20 seconds off Tomac
Some slower guys get agro and want fight anyone who passes them .
I raced echoconee ga back when and I remember Shane Bentley came one weekend. There were local pros waiting on him in practice to come around so they could jump in on his lap and pressure him. I remember Shane Lusk giving it to him pretty dang good.
I saw Shane Lusk race in 2003 or 2004 at West Florida MX in Milton FL in a local pro series race and he was hauling on a 125sx!Bummer he had a spine injury.
I remember as well. I loaned a 250f to the guy that beat him. Brian something. Had a brother Daniel. They couldn’t be touched down there but Shane gave him all he wanted!
Love this.
But if you’re that fast and I’m that slow can’t you just ride around me… you’re a pro
The problem is that slow riders are unpredictable! And at those speeds if a dude cross ruts you it will end up bad for both.
I agree but if you are intentionally getting in the way and he caught up to you from 35 second back and you are like “I’m going to race him” you are an idiot
There's a great video of a guy climbing with Pogacar.. before Tadaj dropped a 700 watt sustained bomb.
Great stuff boys
McAdoo is such a good dude.
Love these videos
Mcadoo seems like the man haha
Haha. That's good stuff!!
Crazy risk for the pro and the Joe to be together on track, if i would be a pro private tracks only
Absolutely ridiculous
What rig is that behind you guys??
What a cool dude.
Cam is back
No one knew, everyone needed.
This is not what I was expecting 😂
At one time EVERY ONE WAS SLOW!! You faster than me…go around and keep the attitude to yourself! Better yet..build your own track!! On the track, slower riders to the R?? But everyone has a right to be on the race line. My opinion.
A rev earns a brake check!
This thing if harming people and then saying it’s not personal when all you describe is actually personal is a cowards call.
Funny story or at least I think it’s funny.
I’m at Glen Helen trying to work my way back into shape to race the 50+ A class at Mammoth.
When all the sudden I get the.. get the fug out of the way rev from behind .
So I moved over, but at the same time, my geriatric ex has been Pro Ego clicked in, and I thought fuck them, jumped in behind and then realized it was a female (I can’t remember the name, but one of the fast female pro’s).
Anyway, it turned out her speed was exactly what I needed to improve my speed. We were about the same around the track, although I would make a little ground on some of the bigger jumps. It was just kind of funny to me because I got it from a chick doing her laps, and I was out there in the way.
Also, reminded me how much you can learn by jumping in behind somebody as opposed to riding over your head trying to stay in front of them. Back in my day that used to irritate the hell out of me. I would always say, just jump in behind and learn something for a few corners.
Anyway, lesson learned I’ll try not to be offended by the rev next time I’m out riding California tracks, even when I’m getting my ass kicked by the women.
I have lived in the 909 for 35 years and have been on 10 diff tracks with them over the years and not one single pro ever revved me , BUT there is always some joe that is a little faster than me that thinks Im in his way and revs me like Im ruining his efing life if Im in the good line when he comes up on me , Im 65 now but still ride at int level so I have to just laugh if they see me when I take my helmet off , I would go see if they want to roll around on the ground like back in the day , but I need to save my energy for the track these days lol
the revving and hollering is for actual races, not practice.
So im 72 . . Been ridig since the late 60's. I hold my own in the 50 intermediate class.
At Pala I try to stay off the Pro track if theres alot of elite guys
If not I just hold my line and that usually works.
If someone revs me more than twice F em
Move to the east coast we separate practice sessions 🤷♂️
😂 I will try to stay out of y'all's way..🦖
Imo pro's shouldn't even be on the track at the same tine as non pro's, give them their owwn time slot or days.. not safe imo
never understood why a pro would rev bomb a vet rider when its a public track day if you want an open course to rip your motos rent the track out or ride during the week when its more dead, never forget these public tracks are alive because of your weekend warriors, not your pros from different states
This is my rule … ride my line…. But I also know when to swallow my pride and go to the vet track … -🦑
Before yall even said your revs i was thinking the same 2-3 second hold and then a quick 2 pump 😂
Universal language 🫡
Surely if these pro's take longer than 2 turns to get past then either the slower rider isn't that slow or the pro needs to be better
when the guy in front is slow and impedes your progress, pass.... you give him a rev. the question is how much is too much.
IT SOUNDS LIKE ROAD RAGE
Why cant McAdoo get past an electrician?
Keefer, talk less.
Why would any rider pull over? If you can’t pass the guy then pull off. Your problem is not my problem.
Macadoo has movie star hair!
No profanity. Seems cool.
You aren't a bulk guy mcadoo, don't think being a dick to guys at the track won't backfire, intentionally or not.
As a novice vet I do try my best to stay out the way or at least hold my line an wave you fast guys by, but when I do that, and then you intentionally stuff me in the turn anyway? No respect. We’ll see you back in the pits.
Keep away from the pros.... How about everyone who paid gets to ride how they want. Pass if faster.
Cameron psychologically just melts down the second he gets a glimpse of Deegan. I don't think this is something he can overcome. Since he's a 250 lifer, he should just wait for the 2025 outdoor season to come back😮
😂😅😂😅
Man you're a DB
@RydenAround Man, you're a stunod🫡👍
McA-Who oh yer the dude who can't be more than 1 foot away from his wife.
He needs to get back to professional racing and stop worrying where is chick is
Keefer always does the best interviews when he is happy , keefer is happy … cr450r 07 juice has him still smiling
Maybe Mitch should dust off his wallet and build a training facility similar to Star Racing, and his boys wouldn't need to train alongside plumbers.
