@BaronVonGames If you hold down the troop selection key when you *release* them it will display white circles on the ground that they'll hold position at instead of moving toward the enemy. So that's actually already in the game.
Also the full levels have many more houses then the tutorial so the builder upgrade for the castle is much better there.

My advice: farm are way more profitable than houses, focus on them early game
