I would be in favour of holding regular plebiscites that decide how our taxes are invested.
      For me:
      10% military spending
      20% education
      30% healthcare
      15% Policing and domestic security.
25% Social welfare (to help pensioners, children in the care system, homeless people, people in financial hardship, disabled people etc.)
And other people do their own percentages of how much of their taxes should be invested in what and an average is worked out. The final figures can be used to guide the central government on matters which concern the people most.

If I wish to make a private transaction, what gives a third party (Government) the right to say that I must take a percentage of the sum used to pay in said transaction and give it to them? What gives them the right to hold property that I’ve bought and own for ransom and force me to continue to pay for it without locking me in a cell? And that the people has an effective way to communicate to associates, to form up an militia strong enough to defense each city or choke point in rural area. To take up arm against Mexican invasion force.
Think of winter war between Finland and Russian. But why would Mexico try to invade USA? USA is Mexico’s biggest trade partner. Unless they want to take over the avocado farm in California. But of course, they can buy it with money. Surely it’s cheaper than losing a battalion worth of spillers and tanks.

This clown has no idea where the money (national currencies, that is) comes from. & no, the government does not print it, create it (in any other way) or give it value. There isn't even a law that says you have to use this currency. That in itself would nullify so called tax laws, if the governments of this world were fair & honest, but then, that's not the governments job.

What? The 20s weren't that great. If you wanna talk about corrupt politicians, take a look at the Harding Administration from 1920 - 1922. Polio and many other diseases were rampant. 1921 actually saw an unemployment rate of 11.9. There was a federal income tax, but it was very low for most people. Very few people graduated from high school before the 1940s. There were also a fuck ton of tariffs (you know, trade taxes!) on imported goods which basically set us up for THE GREAT DEPRESSION. You couldn't have picked a worse time of economic responsibility in the United States.

You are right about railroads (although that's a complicated issue. There are good videos about them by Wendover Productions.) Private schooling was only, and still mostly is, for the wealthy. Public services, like police and other emergency services, have always been government funded. Things like infrastructure weren't really important until the 40s because so few people owned cars. As the standard of living and the GDP per capita rise, so do taxes to uphold those things.

The government schools are *not* free. We pay for them with our own tax dollars, and in many states in the United States, it comes out of *property taxes.* Granted, the amount paid in property taxes does end up making it like a rather long and affordable extended payment plan. However, historically speaking, in my home state of Kentucky at least, the private school system subsidizes the government school system in that the parents of private school students still have to pay property taxes for funding the government schools *even if* they *never* had their children use those schools *and even if* they themselves *never* used those government schools.
Also, roads and road maintenance can be done easily by the private sector. The advantage that government gives us is the absence in toll roads.... except, well, when governments want to have a few toll roads anyway.
There's also no reason why we cannot have private sector electricity.

What would happen if no one paid taxes? A similar thing to what happened for much of world history before 2000 bc ( outside of the major empires of the time ) and a similar thing to what occurred throughout most of American history before 1913 and the " progressive " era, and that is barely existent governments that stayed out of the people's way, rather than putting endless regulations on businesses and everything else like the case is today. If people stopped paying taxes, governments would inevitably shrink drastically or disappear forever, this would lead to everyone being much much freer. The problems caused by the state would largely or completely disappear, this would mean no police brutality, no people in jail for victimless " crimes " , everyone having opportunities to open and run businesses, etc. The goods and services provided mainly or completely by the state would be provided by private businesses, co ops and charities, which unlike govt agencies, would be held much much more accountable. Pretty much all government services have been provided by private entities before the state monopolized them or at least started heavily regulating them. Also, without taxation, people would be able to afford the private options, and even if some people can't afford them, there'd be charities to help!

Short answer is not so much, technology requires the construction of complex and comprehensive supply lines. Such complex and comprehensive supply lines can't be created because there would be no courts to oversee the proper execution of contracts, contracts that would guarantee that corporations would be able to obtain the necessary man power and materials needed to perform business as well as shareholder rights. No new fiber optic lanes would be built because to many liabilities would be created in the absence of gov't and you can't even bother with fabricating microprocessors since one of your truckers can up and leave with several tonnes of precious rare earth minerals needed for microprocessor production without any legal ramification.

I thought the video was about, what the government does, when you don't pay taxes, might aswell rename it to " What would happen if government was disolved?".

Jepple the corporations are owned by the same people who own the government

    • @Athetos_Admech
      @Athetos_Admech 5 лет назад

A corporation is just a legal concept in which courts will consider an organization to be a separate entity from the people who own and operate it, it's basically a loophole created to avoid personal responsibility. Also any business that wants to incorporate needs to apply for that status with the government. So corporations can't take over in the absence of a state because they literally can't exist without a government to give them special privileges.

Taxation isn't theft, tax "WITHOUT" representation is.
Mis-using public money for your own benefit without the will of the people though, it is wrong.

Taxation is the arm of the government; without the ability to tax, the government has no ability to govern. In effect, a government power ceases where it can no longer tax.

Nothing is free, it might be free on the shelves but the labour that was necessary to create the product isn’t free. They must be compensated and a free product hurts business, the worker, the society in general, etc. incentive would also be an issue because you want a reward for the work you put in. This was seen in communist russia as their planes were subpar due to their workers not giving a shit. If everything was free the area would fall into chaos, black friday causes riots and the product isn’t even free. The riots that happen when everything is free is much worse. Free stuff leads to chaos...
