If you watch Dat Nguyen play four downs of football, you will see a passion for the game of football like you've never seen. That dude went after the football like it owned him back rent!
I was too young to see him play at Texas A&M, but watching his highlights and interviews, I can see why he is so revered! A total class act! Nowadays with NIL, you just don't see players play with such a passion like him anymore!
Dat, as an Asian American Linebacker, playing LINEBACKER for the cowboys...is SO IMPRESSIVE. People don’t realize what its like to not have that rolemodel to look up to. Dat is climbing a mountain that nobody has been to. Today, we have the Jackie Robinsons, Ali’s, Brady’s. But as an Asian American in the NFL...it had to be a Challenge. This man had to overcome what his eyes saw on the field. Nobody looks like him. He had to overcome the doubters. Imagine people telling him it was impossible. HE DID IT though. Maybe he never got the recognition he deserved but I first saw Dat when I played Madden. I usually use the Middle Linebacker and was like “wow who is this”. To see his story, it’s Amazing. These are the stories that need to be pushed to the forefront. These are some of the unsung heroics of the League. Anybody can play running back when the past 50 backs look the same way you do. You get more looks and privilege. It’s the ones that KNOCK that door down first. Those are the brave ones. I have a lot of respect for the Dat Nyguen, Patrick Maholmes, Christian Mcaffery, Troy Polamalu’s, Lamar Jacksons of the League. They dare to be different and dare to be great.
Noah Hoang Dat is Awesome! (Pun intended 😁). Inspirational person. So much Heart, Courage and Will. You have a great family member. Best wishes to you as well. Hope that you show no fear in any of your goals and pursuits like Dat!
@@tednguyen7258 3:25 is golden advice. He is 100% right. Dat is an awesome example of how to be a professional in anything. He defied the odds with great work ethic and heart. If given the chance I’m sure the Patriots definitely would’ve taken him. He has the “patriot way” already instilled in him.
@@tednguyen7258 also that is cool. Pick his brain someday if you ever get the chance. Life always gives you impossible odds to overcome. Dat is one of those guys that moved a mountain pebble by pebble.
Total hunter who took great angles and always tackled surely. Rarely did you get away if he had a straight shot and could run you down. Class all the way...
When Dat was at A&M, I use to always say that the Cowboys like small and fast linebackers and they may take him on. Sure enough they did, and I enjoyed watching him play for the Cowboys. Awesome linebacker!
He was the best linebacker in Texas A&M

Dat Nguyen is an unsurpassable role model in several areas. What can be more laudable than that?
