I'm was very excited to see the ASL video, Blocking in a Portrait with Confidence and Accuracy with Anna Rose Bain and the video with, Pat Florello: Vibrant Flowers, that I watched yesterday are well, what could I say but, WOWWEOHZA!
I think the month long 'block' of my artistic flow is over. The blocking in and underpainting technique has got my brain moving again!Thanks so much to everyone at ASL for the wonderful work, even though I know ya'll are having a blast while you do it.❣️❣️😄🖌🖌
This is so fun watching you do a portrait demo. Is there nothing you cannot do????? Again, you have that special talent of thinking, talking and painting. Good for you: we benefit tremendously.

very true, you have to draw daily. Im glad to see you working your brush work and notice your directional gestures. I think your tip about not laying in too much because of the age of your model is what grabbed my attention. Im working on a 10 year old with his grandfather so Im going to keep that in mind when I work my painting. Very useful and thanks for sharing.
Music and painting are all art! Fits well together. I homeschooled my kids for years, that's why I never had time to paint! 😉

Hello from Australia. Just love the confidence Anna has with her strokes. As in sport when you are confident you achieve your best and when you when you approach anything with fear you will get it wrong, you are usually performing below your capabilities. Watching Anna is inspiring my to lose the fear. Fear of failure has always been my biggest enemy.

I used to draw or paint flat portraits... but by watching great portrait artists of RUclips, I acquired tips on shading, shadows, colors, lighting. Im still practicing what Ive learned and still hungry to learn more.

Hi I am in Massachusetts and just found your podcast. Super excited to learn from top artist like Anna. I have been practicing my portraits lately. I am getting better but have a hard time with the portrait looking like what I want not just a nice picture but not like the reference.

Rex Duff Good afternoon from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Eric just saw the shrunken head comment and not sure if you would be old enough to remember the allegedly human shrunken heads, either from South America or Africa that sold as souvenirs in the 50s
Love these classes but your volume is so much louder than the artist’s volume. It’s so startling on my tv when you talk, Eric. Is there a way to make both volumes the same? Thanks so much for all you do.
I agree with you. It was very unpleasant so I had to turn the volume off.

At this point in time, you could have done without the "Disney" reference! Unless you're LGBTQ+ then just cancel yourself's!
How do you frame a painting on aluminum?
Same way you frame a canvas painting - just don't put it under glass.
