I'm glad I'm not alone in being astonished about how "Couples Therapy" let's the outrageous behavior just keep going.

The mother piece hurt like hell to listen to. Hit hard. Thank you for sharing your story. You are so brave.
The fibroids, understanding what good sexual energy is, feeling unseen, performing for love, angry teaching, never feeling good enough... I felt these topics deeply.

JJ, I've watched RUclips regularly for years. I don't think that I have ever commented before.
At the end, you said, “It will be less JJ therapy” in the next interview. I totally think that is a mistake. Yes, at first I was ignorantly put off by that. Then very quickly, I realized that I was listening to the BEST interview of Terry Real that I have heard.
Your willingness and vulnerability to be open and make it a so-called “JJ therapy session rocked!!! So, I just say NONSENSE to anything otherwise!

What you say about mother relationship and moving away because of the differences due to personal growth, really resonate. When Terry Real asks how you feel about the mother wound, about her not getting you and never actually getting, hit hard. That is my experience. It is sad. I know now to be the mother I needed/ need.....at the age of 45.

Sad for us yes. They did the best they could do and have their own wounds from their caregivers. Forgiveness, acceptance and then we are to attract and attend to getting those needs met for ourselves. It can be hard at first but it gets easier and better the more you love yourself❤️🙏

I've watched so many interviews with Terry and this is by FAR the best one. This is real, applies all his great concepts in real time and I am just so thankful for this video. Been working on this stuff for about 6 months and its hard to dig around and even harder to put these great skill to use and, wow, this was just the antidote to all those pushbacks. Terry and JJ... Thank you so much!

I wish I could find out more about the "angry teaching" adaptive child reaction and how it could have originated.. If anyone knows, I'll be grateful.

Last week I randomly picked up the book US from a free bookshelf. I've been in therapy for 3 months but THIS! book Is life-changing! Digging more into the relational life therapy and working through the adaptive child. Thank you

Wasn't sure if the criticism was about Couples Therapy series on Prime or the one on Showtime. I'm going to assume Terry Real was talking about the Showtime series, and JJ was talking about the Prime series, because if the criticism was about Dr. Orna Guralnik that would make no sense.

Why would a woman stay with a man that lies for 25 years? I dated a guy for 9 months that is/was a liar and that was 8 1/2 months too long. There's no way women should have to put up with that and I am disappointed that Terry uses this story to show how great the man is for overcoming his lying tendencies. Why not tell the wife to get the hell out??
