Matt 3: 11“I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
A person is born again when he is administered water baptism because God in his love and mercy accepts him as his child as the priest perform water baptism. When the Bishop lays his hand on the baptised person during the administration of the sacrament of confirmation, he receives the holy spirit. This is how a petson is baptised in spirit. Receiving the gifts of the holy spirit is different from receiving the holy spirit.
Acts 10: The Holy Spirit Falls on the Gentiles 44 While Peter was still saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word. 45 And the believers from among the circumcised who had come with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out even on the Gentiles. 46 For they were hearing them speaking in tongues and extolling God. Then Peter declared, 47 “Can anyone withhold water for baptizing these people, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?” 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to remain for some days.
The gentlies were able to speak with tongues in Acts 10 to show the Jews present, including Peter, that the Gentiles could be preached to as well and THEN right after that the gospel of the grace of God starts getting preached (I Cor. 15:1-4)
@@Pilgrim-funj That only applies if it is something to be spoken to the congregation. If one is praying in tongues and it's between them and God, it's not necessary.

Beautiful. Thanks for this.

So what did you say when you started speaking in tongues & was there one to interpret what you said?
Exactly. With the new pentecostal Catholic movement, the criteria for speaking in tongues is NEVER observed.

That "holy spirit" you received didn't convict you to stop taking the religious name of "Father?"
