Two things, Rob... 1. I'm pretty sure Cyclops' power is actually passive, as in "always on." He has portals in his eyes to another dimension that he CANNOT turn off himself. If he wears his visor or closes his eyes, the portals are still open and streaming, he's just immune to the energy himself and the visor blocks it til he consciously causes the filter to open. 2. I am pretty sure the Protege only copies powers inherent to beings, actually. Someone wielding an infinity gauntlet or the heart of the universe should actually have access to power he cannot copy as they are weapons/items, not beings. If I wield a machine gun, Protege doesn't suddenly gain the ability to spit bullets. As always, good video!
Plus Protege has to be present and seeing the person using their ability to copy. If Franklin is on Earth and Protege is somewhere in space, and Franklin says "No more Protege," then when the warp of reality gets to Protege, he won't be able to stop it because he won't have know it happened until it was too late.
Plus there is the Merlock? Mutant. The ugly green kid that has shown to literally have the power to negate the powers of any being. He'd just need to touch Protege and Protege loses.
Where and how did you come up with your 2nd point? That's a heavy assumption (and a highly unlikely one at that). It was clearly stated that he could duplicate *any* ability he observed *without* limit aka power scale, object or being won't matter. Franklin would get his ass womped. Scathan the approver was a deus ex machina plot device created because they had written themselves into a corner. But for plot reasons, protégé would have been able to and should have copied Scathan's powers.
It actually wasn’t Scathan power. Or the Living Tribunal which Rob failed to explain piece by piece 5 years later lol. What actually happens is Scathen brings a Rare Artifact to Living Tribunal to seal Protégé. Also Protege copy ability only works if he sees the ability being used he can copy an ability without seeing it used but he has to be very powerful. After copying an ability he learns the power 100% then after the second he learns that power that said power increase geometrically by 3x every passing second. Yes this is 100% canon.
I love how everytime Captain America gets described in these videos it’s always “he can run really fast and punch really/kinda hard” that shit be having me rolling after hearing it so many times
“ In brightest day and blackest night, no knowledge shall escape robs insight, let those that worship ignorances blight, beware my power Rob Corp. unite!”
9:35 Not only would Protege copy Stranges abilities but after copying abilities his power would increase Geometrically by 3x every passing second after acquiring said ability.
It doesn't make sense why Protege didn't copy Scathan's powers, or why he couldn't fight against The Living Tribunal absorbing him since he'd already copied his powers.
I can confidently say Prodigy is one of the most overpowered characters not just in Marvel but in all of fiction because having the ability to copy any power without its limitation and having the potentially better than the original user is pretty much broken and he doesn't just copy powers he copies killed two is by far the most interesting character because if he can copy the powers of the Living tribunal a Nigh-OMNIPOTENT Then I have no doubt of my mind he can copy the one above all omnipotence
That's my issue with the MCU version of Thor. He's not a wise mythological warrior with great powers who talks like Shakespeare like his 616 counterpart, rather he comes across as a douchebag fratboy who happens to be a strong alien.
Doctor Strange does have powers. For example, in canon he is actually in his 80s in the 616 universe. After becoming The Ancient One he stopped aging. He cannot be killed by age or disease, that is a power. Also besides his knowledge of magick, according to the backstory of his childhood, he had an innate inclination and abilities predisposed toward magick. It's why Nightmare haunted him in his childhood.
Those are more Spells Effects granted to him, and not an actual 'Ability' like a Mutant or Super Hero power. Such a Juggernaut, Juggernaut is NOT a Mutant, and instead granted his powers by Cyttorak, so I don't think Protege would be able to copy Juggernaut powers, as Juggernaut himself is just a normal human with no powers himself, and instead granted his powers by a higher being. Another example being if Shazam was in Marvel.
Knowledge is power already. I imagine if Protege were able to copy OneAboveAll, he would just merge with him. like, adding 1 to infinity = infinity, he would lose his identity and OAA would remain the same.
@Naija guy Having seen more videos with Protege, I understand his 'powers' now. He copies what he sees, it doesn't matter if the 'Ability' is Natural, Magical, Divine, or anything. If she sees it, she gets it. She's a walking Deus Ex. Realisticly, the Living Tribunal wouldn't have the power to harm her, cause as soon as she saw him, she would be his equal, even if he hasn't used his powers yet, cause he uses passive powers, which she would copy.
what if Protege did not get defeated became the New Living Tribunal . I would like to see a what if comic book of that . that would be pretty interesting to see

When you get to that level of power they don't have the ability to fight each other because they would alter the rules of reality so essentially exist around the other only through trickery and manipulation could one affect the other. They would basically gain their own sub dimension to exist within except when they wish to interact with the prime planescape.
If Protoge was brought to the MCU and encountered Thanos, the fight would end in a stalemate. Then Protoge would use his Infinity Gauntlet powers to trace the history of the Gauntlet, realize that this was all Loki's fault, and either erase Loki from history or, more optimally, prevent the event that resulted in Odin adopting Loki.
