That means 70% of ST reservation has been taken up by Meena community. This is serious issue. What about other tribals like Sahariya, Bhils etc. they can never compete.

We want a caste less society but promote reservations on caste in jobs, Constituent assembly seats, educational institutes. Young Children don't know about caste but adults do and then the hatred starts. Instead provide support to less privileged. Even in OBC and ST, dominating caste groups get benefits. After 10-15 Years there will be less government jobs and more people then real tensions will rise.
Not after 10-15 years. This is the peak of unemployment because less children are being born since 2009 so when they reach employment age they won’t face same level of competition. EWS is unconstitutional , totally goes against the spirit of affirmative action .Reservation is not a poverty upliftment program but a mechanism to ensure equity in representation in various positions in public employment and educational institutions. Reservation per se doesn't create divide, but mixed with politics does. Caste Census is a thing that is just an instrument of political gain for the parties which is being projected as the one helping the backward. More than 50% of the seats have already being reserved and rest are left free for anyone to take, even the ones who belong to caste's being termed backward. Right ? This seems fair. What needs to be done is refine the laws to see that reservation actually reach the ones who need it, so that no one community in the reserved castes take all the perks, rather than increasing the reservation for these communities. Coming to EWS, isn't it a responsibility of the govt to help the poor in the Upper Caste as well. I agree that income slab must be reduced for all, no matter EWS or OBC
Actually exclusive caste based reservation discriminates again poor segment of our country because they are not taken care of in any manner. Most benefits are targeted towards reserved communities. In a poor country,ideally poverty alleviation shod occupy an important criteria,which will help improve living conditions without any social upheaval . In fact, even the reservation has created an elite within the reseved communities. Mr. Mandal should touch upon those areas of reservation. When criteria is fixed on economic basis,where social backwardness comes into picture.
EWS reservation rules don't make sense because though the beneficiaries are 'poor', they are expected to pay full exam application fees while SC/ST applications are free/subsidized. There is no consistency 😒

There are some good points in his argument but let us be clear about each one of them . Reservation itself is derogatory for any community . Any body who gets the job and found incompetent in his job will not get the respect of the society . My house is in municipal area and area is exceeding govt mandated limit for EWS by just a little. But my family income is lower than 3 lakhs right now. The possession of a little land doesn't make me rich by any way. The entire plot may yield around 50 lakhs currently in market. That is not an amount that will put me on par with someone whose annual income is around 5 lakhs even. Flawed policy. I am poor af but I can't access EWS. I think EWS will be availed by richer children and people who can buy the certificate using dubious means mainly from the Bimaru states. I feel it's a Bimaru state reservation.

So the reason for Reservation is to uplift the backward section but ironically more and more cast are demanding OBC reservation... meaning people are getting backward day by day. That is why obcs are demanding caste coloum in population counting,so that people have an idea what percentage of the population comes under OBC
70% obcs population is covered under 27% quota . whereas 10% general population is given 10% quota means 100%seats are given that's the problem.

We want a caste less society but promote reservations on caste in jobs, Constituent assembly seats, educational institutes.
Young Children don't know about caste but adults do and then the hatred starts.
Instead provide support to less privileged.
Even in OBC and ST, dominating caste groups get benefits.
After 10-15 Years there will be less government jobs and more people then real tensions will rise.

Affirmative action is criminalisation of discrimination. There is no basis for inclusion of communities in OBC. OBC was identified through poor and marginalised. So having EWS is also one way to assure representation of poor.

Reservation per se doesn't create divide, but mixed with politics does. Caste Census is a thing that is just an instrument of political gain for the parties which is being projected as the one helping the backward.
More than 50% of the seats have already being reserved and rest are left free for anyone to take, even the ones who belong to caste's being termed backward. Right ? This seems fair.
What needs to be done is refine the laws to see that reservation actually reach the ones who need it, so that no one community in the reserved castes take all the perks, rather than increasing the reservation for these communities.
Coming to EWS, isn't it a responsibility of the govt to help the poor in the Upper Caste as well.

Actually exclusive caste based reservation discriminates again poor segment of our country because they are not taken care of in any manner. Most benefits are targeted towards reserved communities. In a poor country,ideally poverty alleviation shod occupy an important criteria,which will help improve living conditions without any social upheaval . In fact, even the reservation has created an elite within the reseved communities. Mr. Mandal should touch upon those areas of reservation. When criteria is fixed on economic basis,where social backwardness comes into picture.

There are some good points in his argument but let us be clear about each one of them . Reservation itself is derogatory for any community . Any body who gets the job and found incompetent in his job will not get the respect of the society . This causes social backwardness so economically advanced people in all reserved category are getting socially back wards while enjoying the fruits of reservation . This is not the generalisation but true in most of the cases . So , the entire basis of reservation is faulty . Why the people should be given reservation as per the % in the population ? where is meritocracy in that . All the reserved categories will not get respect of the society unless they come via general competition . So , want to get respect , compete . Dr Ambedkar wanted reservation for 25 years , how many years now? Any change in the social status of reserved categories ? You can think over . My house is in municipal area and area is exceeding govt mandated limit for EWS by just a little. But my family income is lower than 3 lakhs right now. The possession of a little land doesn't make me rich by any way. The entire plot may yield around 50 lakhs currently in market. That is not an amount that will put me on par with someone whose annual income is around 5 lakhs even. Flawed policy. I am poor af but I can't access EWS. I think EWS will be availed by richer children and people who can buy the certificate using dubious means mainly from the Bimaru states. I feel it's a Bimaru state reservation.
