One of my favorite songs from the 2010s. So under-rated.
No one says anything about the incredibly deep video that just goes so well with the song. Basically every time someone leaves her they leave rocks which she carries because she feels like it’s her fault they’re gone and she collects and collects until she gets sick of carrying around all that guilt I totally love it 😍
I interpreted it slightly differently. Each person she meets tells her their problems, or a devastating secret. If you have great empathy, you can end up carrying the weight of everyone else's problems, until it becomes too much to bear. You have two choices: depression and self destruction, or learning how to listen without taking other people's pain onboard. I'm still learning to do the latter.

Love this band. Saw them live in Sheffield earlier this year. Great gig. The song 'Hollow' is very Goth with the heavy drum beat and swirling guitars - Great track and video.

she seems full of fear. locked or oerhaps sheltered in some way. see a lot of a former self in her face. and it doesn't matter how one is locked. every voice of comfort and wisdom builds along the way, culminating in eventual escape. sometimes walls are paper thin and one can see the light on the other side but one cannot break thru. the mirror just keeps smirking. it seems birth is merely physical arrival but a kind of self-realization is being 'born again' from scolding ash. thanks for the song. big on the poetry
