@ I thought she just stopped Jenner from trademarking it herself? I didn’t think she had gone as far as that. We already know her as THE Kylie since the 1980s
Back in the early 2000's this was a massive hit in Europe, Australia, Canada, Asia and South America. Kylie Minogue is not only the GODDESS Of POP & BEAUTY this woman is a LEGEND! And this song WILL FOREVER BE my #1 of her incredible repertoire.
To add, it did also do pretty well in the US. It wasn't as massive here as it was in other countries but it was on the charts in various categories here, played regularly on the radio, MTV, etc.
I was actually working for Kylie's Australian record label (FMR) on this release when it came out. I agree, Daft Punk and Modjo were big at the time in Europe and I always felt this and one of the other singles (In Your Eyes) took influence from there. At this point, her A&R was based in the UK with Parlophone and she was working largely with UK songwriters and producers. This album (Fever) also contained one of her biggest hits, 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' along with 'Come Into My World' which won a Grammy. Also at this point, her brand was 'Kylie', which would explain why the focus was on the K ear-rings and not so much an M - she was simply known by Kylie by this point (and why the legal issue with Kylie Jenner has been so interesting as Jenner wanted to trademark the name Kylie - an AUSTRALIAN name which is derived from First Nations language to mean boomerang). In the US, 'Love At First Sight' also had a dedicated mix in the Ruff & Jam Mix. You guys need to do at least another top 5 on Kylie. She has SO MANY hits from over the decades that are worth exploring.
Kylie was being produced in London and Dublin at this time. Whilst Kylie is from Australia and frequently travelled back there to visit family etc. she lived and worked primarily in the UK for 30 years until 2022 when she moved back to Australia to be closer to her family.
The choreography from this album was done by American choreographer Michael Rooney. If I remember reading correctly- it was fairly experimental at the time- and I believe it was put together without hearing the finished music. It definitely gave it a very futuristic vibe back in the early 2000’s. Her performance on the BRIT Awards during the Fever era has become legendary.
The production is so clean and crisp. The video although simple is so creative and you never quite know where it’s going. This is such a bop at karaoke.
I can't think of a 20th century pop star with a more pronounced glow-up than Kylie Minogue. She went from saccharine and cheesy in the 80s to suddenly sexy and cool in the late 90s/early aughts. Seriously, shout out to her creative team!
The KM is on the orange arm bracelet. This song puts you in a good mood. She is trendsetter she’s always been ahead of the times. Love her music soo much ❤
#1 has to be can’t get you out of my head Kylie is basically the Australia Madonna. This is 2001 club hits i use to spin this and come in to my world in the clubs. This song was huge in the USA in the clubs
I remember them playing this on TRL here in America. Carson Daily seemed to love this track because he would dance every time it came on. I don't think it ever went number 1, but it was retired. This track made me go out and buy the album, and I've been a fan ever since. I think she loves this track too because she closes tour with it. I also think this was nominated for a Grammy.
I thought it will be a fully late 80s Kylie list but super happy with this gem. This Kylie era was amazing: "Spinning Around', "On A Night Like This", "Kids", "Please Stay", "Your Disco Needs You", "Can't Get You Out Of My Head", "In Your Eyes", "Love At First Sight" and "Come Into My World". We need more Kylie top 5 lists.
Glad you liked this one! I love this video because Kylie's having so much fun that you can't help but have a great time too. She has such a captivating presence that I don't think she needed a costume change here. 🙂
It’s a nice song, but I’m sick of her using it to end the shows. She apparently loves this song. It should be somewhere in the middle of the set not a Closer. All the Lovers is a much better choice to end her concerts, more euphoric and uplifting.
this sound was a more Pop-leaning style of French House (as you mentioned, like Daft Punk). It trended a lot in European pop songs around 2000-2004 and obviously saw a big resurgence more recently with artists like Dua Lipa.
When you said Daft Punk, it made me realise this song's instrumental reminds me of "Music Sounds Better With You" by Stardust (which was a Daft Punk side project). Edit: Also, the video is very similar to both Daft Punk's "Around the World" and Jamiroquai's "Virtual Insanity".
To answer your question, most of Kylie's output has been created by/with British writers and producers. She lived predominantly in the UK between 1991 to 2021, so was to all intents and purposes a UK-based artist. She has very rarely made music back in her homeland.
I bought this CD at Virgin in London when it was released and the CD came with the music videos on it and the song was played death in Europe ..❤ Great choice and awesome album
The coolest part of the song is the start of the second verse, when a low -pass filter is applied to the background, leaving just the bass and creating all this space around Kylie's vocal. I have to agree that the video isn't super amazing. Come Into My World is a much more interesting one from that time.
That is the beauty of Kylie's music...everyone has their favorite..and that makes videos like these so much fun.. everyone wants to say their favorite and why its that song! There is so much great Kylie music to love and enjoy.. so everyone keep playing her music.. talking about her music.. and celebrating her music! SoThankful for Kylie!! We Love You Kylie!!
This song and Can't Get You Out Of My Head were sooo popular where I lived. I remember seeing the music videos a lot too. I'm originally from a touristy beach town in NJ, so maybe that's why.
And yes, as mentioned elsewhere, Kylie is and has been since her second single, a UK based artist. She lived here for over 30 years and predominantly works with European producers.
Begging you to do a second round and branch out into the following: - Come Into My World (Michel Gondry shot the video, very cool) - Slow - In Your Eyes - Confide In Me (personal fave) - Where The Wild Roses Grow (with Nick fucking Cave, another personal fave)
In Europe/UK/Australia she is known as just Kylie. North America has Kylie Jenner as the famous Kylie. For the rest of the World, Kylie = Minogue. Interesting fact, in some of the Australian Aboriginal languages, Kylie means Boomerang
I hope you react to Come Into My World the music video for that song is so damn cool and unique! This song was big in the UK at the time but so was Hiphop artists like Ja Rule also so its not like both sounds couldn’t exist in the charts at the same time, its a crime Kylie wasn’t more popular in the US. I’m glad i live in Europe as we loved her and still do!
The music video for come into my mind by kylie is also another staple that and her slow really her best music videos please watch! Both songs of course stellar
This was no:23 on the American Billboard hot 100 when released & charted on many other charts on billboard. "Can't Get You Putta My Head" was top 10 in the American Billboard hot 100. Sold over 1 million & counting there it also went no:1 in over 40 countries in 2001. "Come Into My World" won Kylie her 1st Grammy award.❤😊
Have loved your reactions so far, very insightful and funny. But if I were to pick a Top 5, maybe I’d suggest this: 5.Say Something 4. All the Lovers 3. Slow 2. Padam Padam 1. Chocolate, and that’s just considering the last 20 years! So hard to pick!
Great track, however the Impossible Princess album is my favourite and the most adventurous Kylie has ever been. Breathe is beautiful and moody and Too Far is dark and slightly disturbed. Also worth checking out is the Fever Tour version of I Should Be So Lucky, which is much more stylistically in keeping with the lyrics.
The best version of this song is the Ruff and Jam Mix that was released in the US market. This version you're watching was released everywhere else. This song over time has probably proven to be her most loved song.
One outfit because it is one take. Watch ‘In My Arms’ or ‘Get Outta My Way’ for multiple outfits. You have 16 studio albums worth of singles to explore over 37 years of music. Time to catch up. Plus her amazing live vocals. Great reaction though gents.
TUNE!! Love this song. She doesn't need the M, because there is only 1 Kylie. Kylie Jenner tried to trademark her name but it got rejected, though the did finally come to an agreement behind the scenes. You need to listen to the single before this one 'In Your Eyes' another banger of a tune!
Wow. I completely forgot about this song from her. This video was actually played pretty regularly on MTV when it was out. It was almost as popular in the U.S. as her song, "Can't Get you Outta My Head," but not played as much.
She has some of the best original music videos in popular culture, watch Did it Again - Taylor swift ripped it off, Watch Come into my world, watch Slow, watch Confide in Me all iconic and unique
The lanyard with her keys on is so when she's out clubbing she doesn't lose her house keys. She was wearing like a luminous yellow/green pointed stilettos. The one dangly earring with stud on the other side came back into fashion a few years ago. Lulu wore tge one earring in the 60's film to sir with love. She probably dud thus in the uk as she lived here for 30yrs only going back to Sydney after covid.
She didn’t need the M. Over in Europe we all just know her as Kylie. She’s THE Kylie and has been for decades :)
Kylie won trademark of the name
@ I thought she just stopped Jenner from trademarking it herself? I didn’t think she had gone as far as that. We already know her as THE Kylie since the 1980s
Kylies albums are predominantly produced in the UK. She lived there for 30+ years.
This song was not recorded in the UK, though.
@@Sanchordiano one said it was, but British producers were involved

I hope Slow is on your list… one of the sexiest songs and music videos ever.
Where the Wild Roses Grow - Kylie / Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - 👌
Kylie playlist won't be complete without her biggest hit "Can't Get You Out Of My Head"
This album of hers is a banger. Lots of hits on it.
Kylies best music video without any doubt: “Confide in me”
This is one of my all time favorite songs!
One of my favorites of hers♥️
You have great taste.
Mine is Fever i remember dancing to it when i was little and not understanding the words 😂
This track sets the tone for the whole album which as you know is SO GOOD
@@Superfreaky2 I thought fever was she actually got a high fever and needed tylenol lol
Brings a smile to every single time I hear it! That chorus is RIDICULOUSLY good 👏🏾🔥💐
We need "spinning around" or "get out of my way"
You guys should listen to:
- Confide In Me
- In Your Eyes
- Slow
- Shocked
- On a Night Like This
And especially the video for ‘Come Into My World’
Kylie was being produced in London and Dublin at this time. Whilst Kylie is from Australia and frequently travelled back there to visit family etc. she lived and worked primarily in the UK for 30 years until 2022 when she moved back to Australia to be closer to her family.
Kylie was probably my first girl crush. She's gorgeous and she sings like an angel. ❤
You can't get wrong with Minogue's songs. ❤❤❤
the whole album fever is a masterpiece, we need more Kylie!

It definitely gave it a very futuristic vibe back in the early 2000’s. Her performance on the BRIT Awards during the Fever era has become legendary.
Kylie is by and large produced out of the UK since the 80’s. Her music has had the most success in the UK & Aus, then Europe and a few hits in US
The production is so clean and crisp. The video although simple is so creative and you never quite know where it’s going. This is such a bop at karaoke.
1:35 You both picked up the essence of the song very quickly.
There's solo many great songs from Kylie... We need more reactions to her!! 🙌
I love this song so much

Fantastic song. 🔥 Great music video. 🔥 Kylie is amazing. 🔥
There were some amazing remixes of this song, especially the one by Scumfrog because the bass line…. Chefs 💋 kiss
This song makes me SO happy every time I listen to it 💖 it also reminds me of getting ready for school in the morning when I was a kid haha
It was popular on the radio in Canada
I really love this song! Frequently put it on when jumping around the house /cleaning or just walking around the city 😍 Kylie is fine in this one!
Love this song, one of my favs is The One, good beat too
She was one of the best pop songs and it is until today
On a night like this. One of her best!

Love love love this song!
She loves this song. This is always the last song on her tours. It’s not one of my favourites, but I understand why a lot of people like it.
But unfortunately she always uses the US Mix for it.
@ollialex that’s true…

I danced with Kylie’s sister, Dannii, at Sydney’s 1992 Sleaze Ball, and it felt like this.
The next two songs have to be Confide in Me and Can’t Get You Out of My Head. It can’t be any others
I think it will be 'Slow' and 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head'... she has waaay too many classic songs, that's the issue.
