I think Perfect Circle is the defensive/initial response to people in his family approaching him about his drug use (“can you draw a perfect circle?”), and his actions having consequences (the chick saying ‘fuck you’). So so sad that he was so aware of where he was at, but the addiction still won. I think somewhere around Macadelic and on, he basically produced all of his own shit. He’s doing the most rapping on GOOD:AM, Watching Movies with the Sound Off, and Faces.
You should watch inertia for him in his zone just casually spitting fire or something like hand me downs - the music video, they did a really great job of putting together a bunch of snippets of him in the studio

Man y'all seriously seriously need a delve in and read up and listen to Mac. Dude is way ahead of his time and for how young he was the flow that he had and the messages that he had especially as you listen to his career from the beginning to the end you could sense the struggles you can see the addiction coming out in him. I'm a recovering heroin addicts almost 6 years as of July 17th and you know what listening to that song brought me to tears the other day because I just realized that was my life. It's a terrible terrible place to be it just really sucks that no one was there to help save him like someone was there to help save me. Money don't mean s***
