This is legitimately the best video of the basal ganglia's structure I have ever seen! It's so easy to follow... you've saved me hours of trying to figure out the diagrams, Thank you!!
I learned in six minutes what took me 3 weeks to wrap my head in neuro class. The 3D images are an absolute necessity for me, I need to see the spatial relative locations to make sense of it. Thank you so much for this!
2nd year medical student here.....your videos are absolutely brilliant. I use them regularly and they have been a tremendous help. Thanks for all that you do for the betterment of science and future medical care, among other things :)
I believe the most difficult thing to understand in human anatomy are these structures right here. So many of them show in CT and MRI scans, but you can view thousands of them and still have a hard time imagining them in three dimensions. This video helps clear things up, a whole lot. Thank you, kind stranger!
This superb visual makes studying so much more pleasurable. Thank you ever so much for making it! Please make a much-needed video on the EXACT LOCATION of the lumbolumbosacral/lumbar enlargement.
Thank you so much! I'm studying Cognitive Neuroscience in an undergrad psych course, and as good as my prof. if, I've not been able to really visualize and understand the basal ganglia. Until now, anyway. This is so helpful.
So much of clarity!!! Now so clearly understand transverse section of the brain; brain parts so clearly taken off and shown. I wish I watched this video many years before. It could have saved my headache and frustration in understanding brain. Thanks a lo....t!
OMG! THANKYOU SOO MUCH! The images in my atlas nearly made me slip into frustration but now that I've seen this. I understand and don't need to go through the trouble of cramming. Thanks!!!!
This is the best presentation I ever seen in life such aa co relationship between different things made in single slide I immensely appreciate your thought to put in this manner , people around you lucky to have you. With them such aa beautiful demonstration .. I loved your thought man
I am always in search of About Medicine videos to develop basic understanding of any complex topic. It gives a very good base to start the chapter, more accurately it helps me understand the basic orientation of structures.
Wow! Beautiful make it all clear. Was looking for the interspatial relation of each structure vs the other. Is it a 3D brain program we can play with too?
Striatum refers to caudate and putamen, without globus pallidus, doesn't it? NAcc (ventral striatum) is a place where head of the caudate and putamen are fused, picturing it as a separate structure might be confusing (in fact, on fMRI scans there is no clearly separated NAcc). Beside that, great video!
What app do you use for brain 3D? Looks great, really helps reconstruct this structures in my mind. And I have never heard of lenticular nucleus being a part of dorsal striatum. I checked the papers and the term dorsal striatum refers to caudate and putamen, the globus pallidus is not a part of dorsal striatum!
1:22 isnt the dorsal striatum is composed of the caudate nucleus and the putamen. not the "lenticular nucleus and cuadate nucleus" as he says. -source : wikipedia
sir i think 1:17 isn't right or am i know wrong ? i think caudate nucleus and lantecular nucleus = corpus striatum caudate nucleus and putemen = striatum ( Dorsal striatum )

Absolutely right man🥵 I was so confused but I had cleared it by watching this video 🙏 what a great explanation 💯

I can never stress enough how precious this video is. Every time I will study neuroscience I will be grateful to you in my heart
I have never understood brain anatomy on MRI slices as I did just now. My sincerest gratitude. Please keep up the outstanding work.

Short, crisp, and practical. Thank you for your efforts , helped me a lot ! :)
Awesome demonstration! Thank you!
Cheers David : ~)

Excellent!!! very helpful to understand what we see in cross sections. Thank you!
Brilliant Excellent tour & explanation ! Wish I had all this when I did medicine 3 decades ago. Thank you soooo much !
Forever your biggest fan,!! Cristal clear explanation!! ❤
This is the best presentation I have ever seen about Basal Ganglia. Thank you very much.
Hey,
awesome video! What program do you use for the 3D-animations?
Thank you :)
Very nice work.
Incredible.

Where can I find this 3d so I can interact with it myself for memory?
biodigital inc have some great 3D models , u can check their website.

Omg you saved my day thank you so much 💛
great work. Lucid diagram & explanation.
Now, I get to know what exactly I am studying and what exactly happens when someone catches neurodegenerative disorders.

He is right. Globus pallid is called palladium
Amazing
