Rules
1. You can’t use other islands
2. You can use multiplayer on the joycons (no picking up things that are 10k bells or more each for one item)(no gold nuggets) no selling things you pick up it has to be the non leader picking them up so they go to the recycle box BUT NO THINGS WORTH MORE THAN 10K OR MORE FOR ONE ITEM
3. You can’t time travel years only 7 days at a time

@@sillylilgooberlol It could honestly be that you picked a style of glasses that are unflattering to your face? I used to wear rectangular glasses, and once I switched to a shape similar to aviators, I realized just how bad the rectangular ones looked on me.

I vividly remember spending 3 days straight playing this game non stop when it released. Seeing this video release as I just restarted my island not too long ago. Thank you for keeping this community so fun and engaging with all the content you've given us.

I'm really enjoying watching this and remembering the magic of when it first came out. I still love playing a lot. I'm actually writing my own little guide book (kind of like a cheat sheet) while I watch. I have both of the official guides they released but I like having a small journal with all the condensed information I usually need so I don't have to Google constantly since I keep the big book in our second bedroom. It's basically just things like the sell prices of everything, etc. I do this for Pokémon too, it's just relaxing to do and I've been playing ac a lot lately since I started a new island. 🎉
seeing this and the excitement we all had. back when this came out my father took me to gamestop to get it at 9-10 pm so I could play it early. its memories like this that I will treasure forever.

Oh god, I’ve been playing for almost 3 years and watching this vid is the first time I learned about pressing X in the critterpedia to get the new view.
I wish I could play this game for the first time again. I wasn’t here for this era of Dagnel, so it’s nice to see what you thought of the game when it first came out!
It's fun going back and seeing first reactions to this game. The "This is a love letter to AC fans" really cracked me up now looking at how people talk about this game compared to previous games.
I'll be honest, I loved New Horizons for the first... 3 days? Then hated it, the breaking tools, the RNG crafting recipies, the repeatable RNG crafting recipies, never getting the recipe for the cutting board... the RNG recipies...
But about 4 months ago my wife introduced me to your vids and I restarted my island with the one rule of "Do what you enjoy" so if I don't enjoy crafting, I won't. If I don't enjoy fishing, I won't. If I don't progress for a few days, that's fine. Been actually enjoying the game for the first time. It will never replace New Leaf, but it is a really fun and cozy game.

Your channel inspired me to pick up the game again after around 2 years. I am so happy that they finally added the night owl ordinance again from new leaf. Its the perfect game to play whilst winding down for the evening and I love the island at night but it always annoyed me having to time travel back a few hours to actually be able to sell my catches or talk to my villagers.

How to catch tarantula/scorpion.
1. Hold net
2. Sneak with net
3. Bug will go into defensive, thats when you stop walking towards it.
4. Once they relax, sneak again.
5. Repeat 3 and 4 till you're close enough to swing.
100% catch rate but also rather slow.

I put this into my watch later and, as one does, forgot about it for half a year! Finally got around to watching the entire video and will be making my way to your old twitch vods of the other days. It’s such a nice time capsule and I honestly forgot how little we collectively knew at the time of release and the days following that
I've only done two resets, the second time I collected everything I could and threw it on the ground so more could spawn. Once I got a tool I broke all the rocks I could find everyday, giving me a bit of Xtra stone and upping chance of gold. I didn't care where the rocks came back for a while, as I might change things up anytime. Plus, once you have a lot of ground covered with homes, trees, bushes, flowers fences, and furniture it's easier to get the rocks where you want them. Thanks for playing. It's fun to watch someone who has learned and taught so much experience it
the RUclips overlords decided to bless me with this video of someone I had never watched previously. I watched the entire thing well i wasn't feeling well so i admittedly napped intermittedly but still i watched hours and hours. i loved seeing the joy you had and the happiness everyone had to play this game. I wish this whole playthrough was on a playlist i would watch it for days and days. :)

I got this about nine days after release as I'd just had my first pay bonus for working through lockdown. I came for the DOOM memes but stayed for the fact I just really, really enjoyed the game!

I loved watching this it’s so nice to see how happy you were in your optimism. I know sometimes life gets hard, but I know this game is one of your favorites. The overnight stream was hard to watch anything at five hours 56 minutes is the point where you actually started to lose it because you couldn’t pronounce the name of the fossil. I had put my ACNH down too because I was overwhelmed and burned out on the game, but I think I’m gonna start playing it again.
Now this is the way to spend my Monday!

this gets me back but the sad thing is, when you restart, it doesn't feel like the first time playing anymore. I want that charme back :(
I've been watching off and on during my trip to Chicago. I started to wonder why some things surprised you considering how much you've helped us learn. LoL As a person who's played Years of Ark Survival and 7 days to die, and even New World, I still return to ACNH. I still played GC till 2017. I wanted to get all the villagers to come to my town which you couldn't control. I'm on the same mission. I don't have a list of jobs, and have spent weeks learning how to create designs all over again from the old GC way. Before I take a long break, I make sure to have xtra gifts crafted, some wrapped and in my inventory. Then when I log back in I speak to and gift each villager and then play. (Write date of the last played on tape on the back of the console) I have no forever island as just waiting for the next villager and designing them a space would probably mess up something else. Just want to say one more thing. I do enjoy your rhetoric, even pacing of play and not be condescending of the game being casual. To people who stop playing because they can't create something mind blowing, just create something that makes you happy to play in.

I only know your challenge videos so I was legit surprised how chill this is. I shall not forgive the continuous Hazel slander tho. Meanwhile I've been resetting a new island while watching, in desperation to start with one squirrel... (painful considering there's only one for both starter types...)
Anyway, it was a nice trip down memory line. Back when people weren't complaining about every single little thing in this game and we were all just so excited over the smallest things.

This is the first video i watched on this channel and for a second i honestly thought he just started playing animal crossing now.
I first got Animal Crossing: New Horizons on Christmas in 2020 it was quiet and nice playing after Christmas Dinner!
I will restart my Island on 1. January and attempt to finish it within 2024, with the whole museum and such. I love the feeling of a new Island :D And hopefully 2024 will bring news for a new Animal Crossing Title.
