na you got it twisted the show was better after Marissa died. Season 3 was trash mostly because the network kept pushing storylines and characters that weren’t necessary
To an extent I can see why Julie didn't want Marissa hanging out with Ryan. But she could have at least tried to listen to what Ryan and Sandy had to say and trying to call the police was just stupid.
I think Julie was just afraid of Marissa growing up the same way as she did because Julie herself lived in a ghetto neighbourhood like Ryan and made a lot of poor choices so her being mean to Ryan and trying to control Marissa is in her mind her way of trying to protect her. Ryan was the best boyfriend to Marissa, he always had her best interests at heart and would have died for her, he was a good boyfriend, so good that even Julie ended up accepting him and wanting him back when Marissa was dating that gardener (TJ or DJ I think his was, not sure LOL).
