@kingofgrunder5494 if he ever gets a good defensive move he'll be in the running for top 10. But they dont seem to be giving out any defensive options, the opposite in fact
@danielwitt1793 Truth. The new move will be good though, he has some blindspots that that will really help cover. He will be a better character but by how much no one can know.
I wouldn't say that's the best defense I've seen. The Pot Player isn't pressing where he should and vice versa. Like there was a couple of instances where Goldlewis did 624H or 684H without having meter and Pot just sat there taking more unnecessary pressure. BT Pressure Simplified: If BT ends on 4H, Goldlewis is minus. It's Pot's turn which is why Goldlewis RC's after this BT. If BT ends on 8H (268H specifically), it's RPS. Both players are allowed to press buttons here. If BT ends on 2H (862H Overhead specifically), he's plus but this can be telegraphed since they usually do this after c.S or 5K because of the dash cancel. If you're looking for the orange trail from dash cancel, you can dust grab Goldlewis out of his pressure or backdash it (same with 268H). Even if Goldlewis does fast BRC, Pot can backdash it (or HPB fast PRC it). If BT ends on 6H, he's most plus but not to a point where he can end on 6H BT twice in a row (like non-meaty Garuda). Thus, that's the only subsequent BT you should be looking to challenge (if the animation starts from his back, you can 5P him). Pot actually has a lot of answers (more than said) to Goldlewis' BT Pressure. The Pot did well in neutral though.
Only if you let him get away with it. There's a small gap everytime he uses BT. You can try to counter attack him with a 5K, 2K or whatever fast move your character has to interrupt him, or you can even jump from the blockstring, depending of the BT used. All of this becomes more easy if you use FD instead of just blocking normaly.
@@M-Trigger I would like to think the same thing but this potemkin just ate hit after hit without doing anything at all. Are these players actually top tier? While a lot of their execution seems impressive, a lot of stupid things seem to fly at this level of play?
@@EdwinRosario432Well, I guess that even top players can forgot about even the most curcial of the details on a matchup, humans makes mistakes by nature I guess xd. Or maybe is because the Pot player doesn't have many experience in the Goldie matchup in specific. The American agent is one of the least played characters in the game, at least in my experience, since I barely find any while online.
@@EdwinRosario432pots faster move is his 5p, which doesn’t really have enough range to contest, 2p could work, but will lose to frame traps… the risk reward of 2p is to push GL away a bit and do like two dmg, or get counter hit and lose 70% hp. Seems better to just fd and let them push themselves out a bit first…
@@AllantheBob While I understand this, just FD and waiting it out will chip you for almost 25% life by the time Lewis runs out of steam. Potemkin is one of the highest HP characters in the game and to be punished that heavily is absolutely absurd.
4:16 - 4:42 is one of the most tension-inducing moments I've seen in months.
The air throw tech actually made me yell "OH MY GOD"

Pot so fun to play...but still struggles against the other wild ass char's in this game...
Seems pretty absurd to me that gold Lewis is able to throw hit after hit after hit that chips for so much damage. Even against potemkin.

Even at the highest level, Goldlewis is boring to watch.
haha big coffin go slam
You can thank Arcsys for not doing anything meaningful to change any routes for him.... he's been essentially the same for a long time.
L take tbh beeg funni coffin is always fun to watch
How? I think its pretty funny honestly
@davidsphere43 It gets repetitive because, once his pressure starts, you just see the same BT loops over and over.
