This is one of my FAVOURITE performances from Amy 💔 mesmerising, haunting and such emotive vocals...basically what she did best. She had that incredibly unique gift of being able to connect with those who were in pain - her lyrics, her music but combine that with her amazing VOICE and you have a LEGENDARY, ONCE IN A LIFETIME ARTIST. I miss her so much......R.I.P. sweet Amy🖤
Don't take it as a critique but I don't know how people sit through some of her live performances without tears streaming down their face.. I mean she rips my heart out every time!
How to express her phenomenal talent? She walks off the stage all cute and abashed, but the talent on the stage is beyond jaw-drop. The phrasing! The honesty! The belting, and also the more subtle vocal maneoeuvres, which of course are just easy for her and not manipulations at all. Check out also her Glastonbury 2007 (the best of her long shows that I know of), specifically her first public perf of "Cupid."
That was very good but if you wanna hear the best cover of this song, you should defenetely check out Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa live in Amsterdam. I suggest you react to both of these artists because they are great! From Beth Hart you should also check out "Am i the one" live at Paradiso Amsterdam 2004. It's jaw dropping trust me!
For me, words do not express this rendition of Donny's song done by Amy. I experience it, feel it, it's ingrained...
Somebody said in another video that Amy didn't know how good she really was and I believe it...this was extraordinary!

This was written by Al Kooper and first recorded by his group Blood, Sweat & Tears and released in 1968. Kooper was the singer. It's worth a listen.
