You rekindled my love for FPV fixed wing in the mountains. Looks like you picked up the slack that Team Black Sheep left, thank you. I don't see myself going long range FPV on my budget and my 100% flat farmland country, and even though flying fpv mini quads close proximity is amazing fun to do, it's starting to get boring to watch. With mountain soaring I get to explore the world from my PC, how cool is that!
That opening with Orbital as background music, goosebumps man. FPV is the best thing in the world. Especially with sites like that to fly at. I really love that relay system you designed, Keep it up man, can't wait to see your 2016 compilation.
+ezikiel121212 awww you crashed the poor DRAK!! hahah that was some sick proximity but :) and Daemon captured that beautifully throughout ! you guys never fail to impress :)
+Devesh Sharma No Draks were harmed in the making of this video. The irony was hitting a tree that we've flown past hundreds of times without issue, after scraping the rocks and bushes miles away, thousands of feet up in the mountains.
What do you mean "like" and subscribe?! More like FAVORITED and subscribed!!! Absolutely SPECTACULAR! This is why I love FPV so much, I could watch vids like these for hours and hours!!!
+Starbuckin Thanks. So, maybe I should have said, Like, Subscribe, Favorite, Share on Facebook and Twitter, and post a reaction video on Snapchat!.. ;)
That was a sick crash. Never seen anything quite like it. I think I'll go back and watch it again. Almost missed it the first time. Hope to see ya'll up in Hartsel 6/17-19.
Awesome video and good times. Only issue i had was it felt like the camera is not centered a lot of the times, like it was pointed to the left? Maybe its just me.
+Nathan Knight 1. The GoPro on the Skyhunter pans where I turn my head. If I'm chasing someone I often fly offset a bit to one side to make it a bit easier to see them moving against the background, especially flying wings. 2. Occasionally I will crop a clip to zoom in on the action, and that changes the apparent angle of view.
Ok, thanks. Still at 1080p using a Hero4 Session because of the 60fps. I may consider shooting in 1440p after watching this though. Looks pretty smooth!
+Norse FPV My trick is not that I shoot in 1440p all the time (I do sometimes, but then often stabilize and crop it back to 1080p), but that I upscale and render to 1440p (actually a bit bigger than that) before uploading to YT. YT only allows an average of 4Mbit/s for 1080p video, but closer to 10Mbit/s for 1440p.
Most of the details are in the description of the video. I generally fly low and fast, rather than for efficiency and range, but don't hesitate to reach out 5-6 miles to fly down an interesting mountain ridge I can see.
This video is the definition of ripping fixed wing balls. Great flying.
Wow! I watched the whole thing - then remembered, "Oh, take a breath!" Breathtaking, indeed!

Great video, bro. The scenery and downhill mountain flying is the best, I need to try that.

verry nice Video!

Good video. What brand and combination of motor, propeller and ESC are you using in the SkyHunter ?
+sergio restrepo Skyhunter runs Scorpion SII-3020-1110 V2, via a Castle Edge 100 ESC, and it's turning an APC 12x8.5 folding prop. 3S batteries.
Cool! What HD camera did you use for these flights?
Most of it from a Hero4 Black. Some of the multirotor footage from a Mobius.

Neat! Thanks for the tip! What software do you use for stabilizing?
Norse FPV
I use the stabilizer built into Sony Vegas Pro 10. It's not quite as good as something like Warp, but is very quick and does an ok job.
Daemn42 what setup do you use for the fpv? Does it have a range limit?
Most of the details are in the description of the video. I generally fly low and fast, rather than for efficiency and range, but don't hesitate to reach out 5-6 miles to fly down an interesting mountain ridge I can see.
