Man that is not a Zebra Cake! Zebra cakes were hexagon shaped with 3 horizontal layers: cake, filling, cake. Little Debbie just reusing the swiss roll machines to make zebra cakes and it’s a travesty. It’s blasphemy to call that monstrosity a Zebra Cake!
At my store they’re selling both. The new one in the roll form is called zebra cake rolls so it’s just a new variety but the original are still being sold.
I 100% agree 👍🏼 We have enough people, try to be so effing smart, but end up being annoying lol. So i am always happy when i see a new FR video. If it involve the family, even better.
Would definitely get more of the cake etc. I feel like most ice creams these days hardly have any of the toppings that they say that they put in there.
I think this is the solution but it doesn’t hold up for mass production. I can go on GoPuff and find ice cream just like that with popcorn and cake and cookies folded into a vanilla base but it’s all boutique, hand mixed to order.
It's so heartwarming to see them together. They get along like best buds even though they're father and son. Was/Is James a single-father? I wouldn't be surprised if he was a great solo dad.
I always love how real and honest you are, drops ice cream on table, "I don't care still eating it" lmao other youtubers would edit that out being so real always makes me trust your reviews even more
I found the whole dialogue exchange during the nutty buddy segment so inadvertently funny. Brandon: Never had one of these. James: We aren't commenting on these because everyone knows what they taste like. Cut to James after they ate them: Okay Brandon what do you think?
2:42 I always ate my Swiss Rolls chilled in the fridge anyway. They tasted sweeter to me that way than when the creme is warm. You should have used your Thrifty-style scoop in this video! Using the spoon looked painful lol.
@@Freakinreviews Ah I gotcha. Thanks for letting my know. Thought they might have changed shape to cut down on manufacturing costs. And great video. I'm going to have to try the Oatmeal cream pie and Honey Bun ice cream.
I just bought some star crunch the other day for the first time in probably 15-20 years. I'd forgotten how much I liked those things. Whole box gone in a day.
They really should have made the Swiss Roll version with a swirl of vanilla in the middle. Maybe it's not possible, but it really just looked like chocolate ice cream. Now I want a Swiss Roll. YUMMY!
When I was pregnant with my kids all 3 of them I craved the crap out of the original Strawberry Short Cake Rolls. Now I can't wait to try the ice cream to go with it
for anyone wondering or confused about the zebra cakes those are the rolls zebra cakes still have a hexagon shape she just made zebra cake roll and the hexagon zebra cakes that we had in our childhood but both are still good to me
First off, LOVE the outtakes at the end. Secondly, I think the Nutty Buddy got the short end of the stick and you should have revisited that one to dig in deeper. That said, I have not yet tried these but look forward to it
Thanks for reviewing these! I'm excited to give the Zebra Cake version a try soon. Btw eating Zebra Cakes in any other shape than a hexagon unimaginable to me these days lmao. I still don't get why they made a second version to begin with. It feels like there's always too much cream to cake ratios in those. 🤷♀️
Never had Little Debbies growing up so I don’t have a tie in to this snack, still enjoyed the video. I think it makes a nice video when you include Brandon.
You so deserve that 1 mil sub mark! Hope it is soon in your future. Grew up with Debbie. My only complaint is they’ve gotten smaller and smaller. But still best budget snack cakes! ❤️ PS Your son has turned into a very handsome guy. I enjoy seeing you two together. 😁
Dude I survived on 80% cosmic brownies in high school. They were 25 cents at the concession counter, and they packed the most sugar for your money. And they're already split down the middle to share with my broke little brother. Far superior to non cosmic brownies. 👍🌌
You have to keep in mind that the icecream is made of liquid goo and then gets freezed. During the liquid state going to frozen there is a bit of time and the solid pieces can sag to the bottom of the ice cream cup.
That was quite a great/funny review! Glad to see you both are well, namely Brandon! I would probably love either of your top 2's with the honey buns and the strawberry shortcakes. Loved the bloopers/extras at the end, always fun to see those!
I’d like to see a follow up about 4 hours after eating that garbage, luckily they survived and this isn’t the last video ever from such an awesome channel
Love it when your son is joining! You have to hire him and make him do some reviews by himself and do your editing. That will free up more time for more vids wich means more money for you guys 🤣
The Fudge Rounds get no love, even though they are one of the most delicious snack cakes ever. When I was a poor student in NYC, they were a treat for 25 cents each. So underrated.
With Brandon standing next to you in the intro the only thing I could think was... No way in hell you can deny that youngin. He's the spitting image of you.
Did you have a sugar high? I've had so many birthdays I remember when Little Debbie was +/- $1 and the oatmeal cookie filling was like straight lard with sugar. At this point I do not like to even think about eating them, my stomach flips a little. Good that folks still enjoy them. You two do a great job. What I enjoy is seeing you two laughing together and having a great time. Thanks for all the reviews. Keep them coming.
Wow. I guess I've been away from "civilization" for a good minute. I've been at a VA rehab program in White City Oregon for 13 months and have not been out in public since it's a lock down facility because of covid. I'm gonna smash all of these when I get out in 2 weeks. Great reviews.👍

Haha. I remember the hexagon ones too.
This must be a recent change. What a shame
@Jason Wiese they still are hexagon shape also. They just give you both options
@@brownandbeautiful75 yeah I have 2 boxes of the hexagons in my kitchen! 🤣🤣 ive only seen the rolls in the single packs
At my store they’re selling both. The new one in the roll form is called zebra cake rolls so it’s just a new variety but the original are still being sold.
These guys are answering life’s serious questions! Always a treat when a new video comes out
Thank you so much!!!!!!
To heck with Consumer Reports. I trust him so much more. He constantly takes one for the team.
I 100% agree 👍🏼 We have enough people, try to be so effing smart, but end up being annoying lol. So i am always happy when i see a new FR video. If it involve the family, even better.
Yeah, we don't really care about the meaning of life!
The answer too the best Little Debbie I've cream.... Now that's important! Lol 😂
I'm enjoying watching a father and son. I feel like this is a father who has invested time, love, into raising his son. I'm so touched.
Crazy idea - smash the actual snacks into quality vanilla or chocolate ice cream, call it a win.
Would definitely get more of the cake etc. I feel like most ice creams these days hardly have any of the toppings that they say that they put in there.
@@koi.in.pond3149 ben and jerrys used to have bits of pretzel in their ice cream. Now they grind it to the texture of sand.

@@nocodekevin lol well that's why . Just like cold stone they do pretty good . That's just my opinion.
I am very disappointed about the nutty bars. They are my favorite. I could sit and eat a whole box with a glass of cold milk.😋
I like the respect your son shows you.
He seems like a great guy.
You two make a dynamic team
👍🏻
He takes after his respectful dad!
Glad to see Brandon making a few appearances-I’m sure some folk miss him on his Freakin’ Brandon channel

This is awesome I've never thought about comparing the ice cream to the cakes.
Why wouldn't you? Common sense man
The 3 of you together must look like adorable triplets 😆 Never ate Little Debbies or tried the icecream, but very funny to watch you guys!
im really enjoying these food fridays, and seeing brandon in these videos. keep up the good work guys!

Little Debbie if you're reading this I humbly suggest chocolate covered strawberry shortcake rolls...snack & ice cream 😍😋
I will forward this to Big Deborah, head of Little Debbie's R&D team. Thank you for your valiant contribution, consumer.
@@MrBrad12435 Big Deborah 🤭😆
Man I love it when Brandon is present in these videos, having a second opinion on things is great
I remember Zebra Cakes being in like a hexagon shape. I wonder why they changed them to be like Swiss Rolls?
Hi @Cool Spot, Zebra Cakes are still in a hexagon shape as you remember them, but I picked up the Swiss Rolls form for this video! Same ingredients
@@Freakinreviews Ah I gotcha. Thanks for letting my know. Thought they might have changed shape to cut down on manufacturing costs. And great video. I'm going to have to try the Oatmeal cream pie and Honey Bun ice cream.
i was going to say the same thing
@@Cool-Spot They still exist but they're smaller than before to cut down on costs. 😩 I have them often so seeing it happen in real time was rough.

Really love the videos with your son! He’s a natural, and please keep up with the snacks and food reviews! 😎
I really like the food reviews. You and your son’s commentary is complementary. I would love to see these past February. 😁😁
I wish they had a star crunch one 🌟
I just bought some star crunch the other day for the first time in probably 15-20 years. I'd forgotten how much I liked those things. Whole box gone in a day.
Star crunch was one of my faves as a kid
Fudge Rounds ice cream, too.

The real chunks of "stuff" are usually in the middle after you dig down a bit. Combine with outside edges. Ice cream eating is an art. Trust me. 🍨
When I was pregnant with my kids all 3 of them I craved the crap out of the original Strawberry Short Cake Rolls. Now I can't wait to try the ice cream to go with it

I love you Friday foodie reviews!!!!
I really enjoy these father and son videos. All I can say is.... I'm craving ice cream big-time now....🤣
As brandon is warming up to being on camera more of his natural personality is showing through and that's cool.
Nice video. Bet you could have cut the pints vertically down the middle to see the mix-in distribution better and get at the chunks easier.
I like the food fridays keep it up!
I like that you have your son with you in some of your videos. A nice touch!
Love when Brandon is in the videos! So fun to see you guys working together! ☺️

I am really enjoying these taste review videos you two have been making. It’s fun having them in the rotation!
On the swiss cake roll icecream, there's more swirl deeper in the icecream and to me, it tasted so much like a swiss cake roll, I loved it

What is obvious to me is that the packing plant needs some quality control
These two are too silly. I love it!
Thanks for the review it was great going to try to find them.
What a marketing thing. They got everyone buying the ice cream AND the original snacks to do side by sides.
It don't matter if they do or don't taste exactly like the counter part, its more important to enjoy the ice-cream
There's Little Debbie ice cream?!!😲🍦

FREAKIN FOOD FRIDAYS IN FEBRUARY!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
Little Debbie's are made in Chattanooga TN close to my hometown so they are dirt cheap around here, so are Moon pies.
That is really good information to know, thank you for sharing Captain America 1776
Dirt cheap in Cleveland ohio, box of 6 or 8 for a $1
Love when you guys do reviews as a family
Yay !!! Brandon and zebra cakes !!! Good job guys !!!
It's hilarious watching both of you take huge bites of the foods. It's nice seeing people who enjoy doing their jobs.
You two are so cute. Well done! Thanks for sharing with us!
Everybody knows what they taste like? They don't sell these in my Country.
Little Debbie ice creams WHAT? I'm gonna have to go looking for them. 😋😋😝😝
I think you should have done "cake and ice cream" with them. You could also mix and match. For the cream pie, make a ice cream sandwich.
My college breakfast was a Pop Tart and a can of either Pepsi or Mtn Dew.
I love to freeze Swiss Rolls before eating. The outer chocolate falls off and then you have a velvety center roll!
The zebra cake ice cream probably should have been matched to fudge rounds.
2 cent chick beat you to the punch on this one.... I'm surprised you didn't give her a shout out. I thought she was your friend.
