Hey, Jeff! I saw your videos on making bog gardens and really like them. I was wondering, specifically, about the layer that is all peat. Wouldn't the roots of the plants get root rot when they reach that layer since it has no aeration and consistently moist? I saw your videos of the bogs, and they look really beautiful and really healthy. I was just wondering about the peat layer. I would appreciate to know your thoughts regarding it. Thanks!

I run my bogs on a bit of the drier side than most people and they seem to appreciate it. I don't water them until it's borderline an emergency situation. I made a video about this some time ago showing the texture of my peat moss in my bogs. I'll edit this comment with the link when I find it
