you can make the drag sound a bit louder on those reels. its got a horseshoe shaped clip on the main shaft that clicks against the spool - you can actually remove it and bend it wider (like an actual horseshoe) to increase the tension when reinstalled. I've done this to both my certate and expedition... free easy upgrade lol
What kind of maintenance do you do with these mag sealed reels? Do you put any oil on any part like the line roller bearing or the main shaft? Or do you just wipe them down after each use? Thanks!
So far with the mag-seal reels I only rinse off the reel. Plus I don't have the knowledge to maintain the mag-seal. I have been using the certate HD for over a year and only the roller bearing has been giving me so raspy feeling. But that bearing on the 2016 certate HD doesn't have mag-seal bearing.
@@sparkyishii4583 thanks for quick reply. Do the SW has mag sealed line roller bearing? How bout the LT? Im planning to get the 6k SW for surf, pier and jetty fishing. Appreciate your help.
It is supposed to be the SW. But right now it's the HD. I have not used the SW enough. Plus the SW didn't catch any fish yet. The LT I hardly use. I use the HD with 15 lbs braided line. To get the most distance possible.
I don't own a saltiga. Ii am sure the saltiga has stronger drag. I only own certate for the mid-higher end for Daiwa. I can not afford the saltiga. I can't see buying a BG MQ or Saltist MQ. I am happy with the certate 2016 model through SW.
Did you think is a lot a difference between the LT and the SW ? I’m trying to get one and I don’t know wich one will be better i know sw means saltwater and the other one I don’t know if I can use it in saltwater
I have both, the LT is also designed for saltwater. If you intend to fish with lighter tackle go the LT, it will be more useful for inshore and light offshore. SW is a heavier duty reel and I will last longer being abused on pelagics and under pressure. So both will do roughly the same job, but the LT is more delicate!
I have the Certate LT 5000 now, but I was wanting to pick up the Certate 5000 SW. When you hold the reel bodies of these two reels side by side are they the same size? I have never seen a 5000 SW in person and I am curious about actual size compared to the 5000 LT. It looks larger than the 5000 LT in pictures. Thanks
The certate sw holds just as much as the rest. I like the robustness of the sw. I sold the LT because I know I had too much reels. The older HD is great reels plus they feel as robust as the sw. I personally didn't like how light the LT felt.
I enjoy the mag-seal and monocoque body. I have them paired to mostly 10' rods at the least. Majorcraft 10' , Majorcraft 10'6", Shimano Tiralejo 10'6" Penn Carnage 9'
Shimano is a good brand. But I am not confident with their sealing. As is the Saragosa which has actual seals. The one I own got splashed plenty, but not dunked is really not as smooth.
Thanks for the info on the different styles there are. Enjoyed the video.

Great Video, a wide comparison

Qué diferencia hay entre sw y el Lt? Me recomiendas comprar el certate lt 5000 d xh ark?
I sold my certate LT. It wasn't about the speed of the reel. I enjoy the strength of the sw. Plus the sw has the drag sound I enjoy, louder.

LT, HD or SW??
Thanks.. 👍🏼

What’s the difference between the 2019 certate LT 5000 and the 2021 certate 5000 SW?
The LT is much lighter. It is very easy to spin. But I myself enjoy the SW, because the SW feels much more rugged.
Sorry I didn't see your question
Awesome!!! Thanks much
when compared to daiwa saltiga BJ which is smoother and stronger?

will a 19 certate lt4000 spool will fit the 19 certate lt 5000 body?
I'll go and check up on that. I highly doubt it. I only have 2016 HD 19 Lt and SW. The 2016 is the 4000 size and LT is 5000 size
Can you change the spool of Lt to sw spool?
That question I can't answer. I sold the LT. I only have the SW. But if I remember correctly the SW is bigger.

@@ScubaChris yes, from Oahu.
The certate HD and SW is my favorite. I sold the LT.
What hand do you have on your 16 certate sh? Is that an lt certate handle knob
It came off Daiwa Blast. I got the tool to remove the knob from the certate sw. It looks to be the same as the certate LT and sw

Yes the SW is larger and much more robust. Yes that's the reason why I made this video. For the size, looks, and feel.
Thank you
I check the line capacity of the LT 5000 and the 5000 SW and they have the same line capacity. I’m wondering where did the size difference go?

Does it have manual trip bail
Yes the 5000 sw has a manual bail trip. I had to double check, because no matter what spinning reel I do manual bail.
I can adjust the sound on Certate LT and can sound the some like WS 👍🏻
I never did try. Do you have to buy a different spring?
