Having lived in both Canada and Australia, I will say with 100% confidence that Canada is so much better in many ways.
1. Diversity
2. Employment
3. Cost of living - Australians make over 20K a year and still struggle with just their weekly groceries. And Canadians who even make minimum wages don't.
4. Weather - Don't get mislead by people who keeps complaining about weather, Canada may have a 3-4 months long winter (I love winter btw!), but Australian heat can go up to 40-50'c PLUS and your sunscreen will NOT HELP!! Your skin WILL start cracking up and become painful. And the weather is completely random, for example in Melbourne, in the morning you check the weather on TV/Internet it may say it's going to be sunny, so you go wearing all your normal clothes, then it starts pouring rain and the heat goes down to -2 out of no where.
Australia sure has nice beaches, that's about it. The country it self is really boring. There's nothing much to see other than the Sydney Opera house and.. some caves maybe? Anyways I will always pick Canada over Australia any day.

Canada and Australia have each one 3 cities in the top10 most livable cities(Canada and Australia are the only countries to have 3 cities in top 10 most livables cities). But I found the Australian cities a little bit boring. Canada and Australia still the best countries in the world for me even if a have a little preference for Canada. So everyone is a winner :)
