- Actress Anne Heche remains hospitalized after a car she was driving crashed into a house in Los Angeles and became engulfed in flames. A law enforcement source familiar with the investigation told CNN the significant nature of Heche's injuries have prevented officers from interviewing her. The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the crash.

Any normal citizen who did that would have a cop sitting outside their door in the hospital waiting to read them their rights with the results of blood tests for alcohol and drugs. She did a hit and run and must have been doing close to 80 mph down a residential street and crashed through the front of someone's house nearly killing the home owner. The car ignited and started the homeowners house on fire destroying everything.
She seems to be in a too bad a condition to be doing alcohol tests.
She is in intensive care, because she has serious injuries. She’s allowed to receive treatment first.

If her closest friends in hollywoodland want to offer to help Anne, then offer the woman who lost her house a place to stay. Gather up money to rent an apartment for this woman for at least a year ($100K is not much if gathered up), so she and her three pets to have shelter. It would show this might be what Anne might want and a good deed and good p.r., too. For whatever reason this occurred, she has some responsibility here and while at it gather up money for a good tip for the 50 plus workers that did their job.

Local news reported yesterday that she fled the the scene of a previous hit and run (was photographed there), then flew down this street, was also on the neighbor's camera speeding by, finally smashed into this house. The damage to the house is catastrophic, not to mention that the resident narrowly escaped being crushed.

I read someplace that the lady living in that house is a long term renter, and that the owner of the house was very worried about her tenant. The owner said that the lady lost everything, but was so thankful that a neighbor helped get her pets out with her. Dogs and also a turtle, I think. Thank God that the lady and her pets were not injured or killed. I think that is a bit of a miracle after seeing so much smoke and flames from the car. Horrible. Horrible experience for the lady living there to deal with. I do hope that she will be given help to get into a comfortable rental soon. She must be a nervous wreck after living through something like that. I know I would be!

You can't arrest a dead woman. I feel sorry for her minor son Atlas,who no longer has his Mom. As heartstopping as the crash was, no one else was hurt. The homeowner will be paid from the estate for the loss of rental property. The renter already has 80,000 plus in gofundme already and everyone has helped her find another home. This is actually the 1st time Ive heard of a person driving under the influence not killing anyone except themself. Most times, the driver lives and leaves behind many victims. Fortunately, that did not happen this time.
I am assuming that she came to on the stretcher right before they loaded her in the ambulance and was rising up to escape from the fire she'd been in when she passed out or from the intense, screaming pain of severe burns as she woke up. She wasn't trying to escape from custody. Some reports have hinted at that. Really glad no one else got hurt. The resident's trauma will be significant. She lost everything but her life.

it didn't run off the road. she drove it off the road and into the house. There's no damn skid marks! It missed a parked car, jump a sidewalk, went through a cinder block wall and launched 2ft off the ground and went almost clear through a home!
She did it on purpose then. There was no desperate attempts to right the car. She aimed at the house it seems.

That would be nice. Unfortunately you never "recover" from the kind of severe third degree burns that she will have. Every time you look at your skin after that you won't recognize it as normal "skin". It won't be nearly as attractive. And I'm really understating the case here.. But it WILL remind you of the day that you watched large slabs of it melt off your body while the high temperature from the scalding water or steam or flames or whatever it was effectuated that process. How do I know? I'm a burn victim. It's not something you ever want to experience. Take my word for it.
Unfortunately, she died. But I am sure she is at peace knowing she did not hurt anyone else.

I read several replies....by the sounds of it, she was very troubled mentally. What happened to her is very sad especially for the rental lady. It doesn't sound like she'll be going to jail bc she will be fortunate if she even survives this awful accident. I guess we never realize the pain others are mentally going through. It's easy to judge, however I feel prayers for the poor lady who must be terrified from her hitting the home and loosing everything except her loving pets is what needs to be the main focus. I also feel Anne needs prayers. She is suffering physically and has been mentally. I can't pretend to know how painful that is~~ it's too bad she wasn't somewhere getting help instead of behind a wheel where she could've hurt or killed some unfortunate soul. For now, many prayers are needed for all. Amen. 🙏

How could you not feel sorry for the woman whose face was probably burned severely? Imagine that.
This certainly brings new meaning to the term "flaming liberal".
She was running from a hit and run she'd done, was speeding away from that. She almost killed a woman and her dogs. Cost her, her house, her memories. Luck is the only reason she didn't get killed. Yeah she might get it back, BUT it may not be all roses for her, the new property taxes may not be sustainable by the woman. PTSD is likely.
If she was anyone else- people would be screaming for vengeance, assuming the race, and prison history of the person and saying we're soft on crime that let this happen. I've seen 10's maybe hundreds of these youtubes and news stories and NEVER are they favoring, sympathizing with the perpetrator. People would be concerned about the VICTIM in this, not the perpetrator. This is a first. wow.
She's not special. Elitism is not healthy. It may be common, but it's not healthy.
People are in ICU for more reasons than that they NEED to be there.
Some are there because there are no regular beds available. Common since COVID. This ties up an ICU bed until someone else leaves the hospital. Others needing ICU during that time will be shipped out or if no other hospital will take them, languish in the ED until the bed becomes available. 1-5 days on an ED gurney is no fun patients tell me. I believe them.
Others are there because they are high maintenance. They have frequent adjustments to their care, which would not be as doable on the floor with a nurse having 4 other patients in CA or in other states as many as 15. Thankfully CA has limits. Should be 4 not 5 but least not 15.
Possible celeb status if there are no private rooms available if the hospital still has the 2 patient system going.
The hospital DOES NOT get ICU pay for bedded ICU patients not needing ICU unless out of pocket and demanded by the patient or family.
