LIMBO is themed around being trapped between heaven and hell. with the player not knowing where to go, it's up to them to decide their fate and venture throughout the wonders of different technological and demonic hallucinations.

Finishing Notes:
From the bottom of my heart, I'd like to say thank you to everyone who believed in this project and wanted to see it done from beginning to end. Started on 22/2/2020 and finished today, I can proudly say we have reached the end of an era. I shall be focusing on another project later that would be revealed after LIMBO is verified, so keep an eye on that.

I made this comment long ago celebrating the level hitting a million views and I've been editing it ever since with a new milestone. It's absolutely insane how this level is still exponentially growing. 5 million views, damn. It hit 4 million less than 2 months ago!
Isolation by Nighthawk22 AND it's remix also hit 1 million views each recently. It's absolutely insane man. I'm really proud of just how many people were inspired by this level referencing it till this day. February next year will be the 4th year anniversary of me starting it.

You don’t understand how godlike I am with guessing cups and balls, my memory when it comes to keeping track of one specific object while it cycles through others is insane and the fact that I struggled at the key part without even actuality playing the level scares me.
A lot of people just memorise each of the finite patterns so they can know the answer in advance I think.
the players have to memorize which key goes where for each of the patterns. srsly tho when I first saw people beating it I thought there was something wrong with my brain not being able to guess the right key

This level is like how it feels to leave an IKEA the same route you went in
2:40-2:50 that part hits
Anticheat added at the end of the level, a pillar that forces you on a D-block to the ceiling. If you try pausing to look back at a recording to find out which correct key it was, you would die immediately to the spike. The way you select the key is waiting for each one of them to glow periodically in order, when the correct key is glowing, you immediately release to select it!

… And after all the hell I went through, I still was not done. The bright teal color I once grew to adore has gradually revealed a hellish red hue. A hellish red that only the souls of the damned knew. Of all who have gone before me through LIMBO, not a single one has made it out alive. I assumed I was next to see why. The mental torture I went through just to learn how to navigate this maze of agony was beyond the comprehension of any mortal being. The creators of LIMBO definitely knew how to punish ignorance and hubris. I guess this is why I was here. I was too confident in my mental aptitude. Too confident in my mentality. Too confident, and now I was facing the full extent of my punishment.
After avoiding a few more obstacles of death that may, or may not have been real, I saw it. I saw him. The mastermind behind LIMBO. The curator of this twisted, egregious hell. The demigod to punish all intelligent beings who were not being challenged enough.
“M-M-Mindcap” I managed to spit out.
He had a sinister look in his only eye. His pyramid body was the only recognizable feature, even without the blood spilling into my eyes and tears streaming, cascading down my face. He had no mouth, no nose, no soul. Just a frigid aura that followed him everywhere.
“Very well done thus far Bowman.” He said with a ghostly whisper. “Not many get this far into my maze, so I must commend you for your efforts.”
I said nothing, couldn’t say anything. How was I supposed to respond to a being that was essentially a god, when I was clearly in no condition to answer? I stood there, expressionless, with blood and sweat trickling down my eyes, face, and entire body. I gasped for air, silently praying for mercy against a soulless being.
“Nothing, huh?” The ghostly words floated through space, sending chills down my spine in waves. “Well, no matter your efforts, it all ends here mortal.” as soon as the words floated into what was left of my ears, they were there. The keys. Everyone talked about the keys. How no one could ever pass the LIMBO keys. Even the most brilliant minds had no solution for the keys. I once dreamt about these keys. How I would most likely never see them, but still thought I could pass them. Now, I was about to put my 15 year old theory to the ultimate test, with the price to pay for being wrong was no longer simply being wrong, but rather my entire soul, being, and life were on the line now. Eight keys rotated in from thin air, phasing into the plane of reality.
“The keys will now decide your fate. I would wish you luck, but we both know that luck won’t carry you through this” Mindcap hissed.
I knew he was right. I knew that even with a 12.5% chance of being right, it was not enough odds to simply gamble everything I’ve been through.
I would have to focus.
With my sight being obstructed with my own blood, I would have to get through this last room. Mindcap gestured to one of the keys in a 4 by 2 array, making it glow a bright, lime green before fading back to the deep orange the rest of the keys were. It was then I was greeted to an extremely precise flying section where I was forced to elude the blades and spikes being thrown at me while in a dart, diagonally moving vehicle, but what I had not accounted for was for the keys to shuffle. While flying through the hell that was being thrown at me, the keys were shuffling within their array, crossing, dancing, rotating, doing everything they possibly could to get me to lose track of the key that Mindcap chose at random. As I watched for my life, shifting focus from the keys’ tango of death, to the spikes and blades being thrown at me, I managed to glimpse into open space. I specifically remember a pentagram, spinning and taunting me, as if I wanted more things to focus on. The pentagram soon changed, as I saw flashes of previous rooms in a crimson tint. From KrmaL, to Pennutoh, to Jeyzor, to Terron, all the rooms that they have made for Mindcap flashed by me in a frenzy, but I had no time to admire them as the keys were still dancing, but faster. I knew I was nearing the end. I just needed to focus. All the years as a child, playing those ball-in-a-cup games has brought me to this moment. I was fried. Mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, but I knew that I had to focus just for a little longer.
After what felt like eons, the keys finally stopped dancing as they each revealed a certain color: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Pink and Cyan. They floated into an orbit around Mindcap, who faded into existence with a ghostly, bone chilling line.
“Now choose your fate.” his words echoed in the empty black space around him.
I knew that one of the keys would lead me to freedom. To light. To the end of this agony. The other seven? They would send me back to room one, or worse. Of course, I could not go through this again as I was already scarred, bruised and bleeding beyond help, but as Mindcap said before, the keys would decide my fate.
I stumbled to him as I gripped onto the pink key, sealing my fate here in this abyss of darkness.
Mindcap opened his eye, causing the rest of the keys to fade away in an instant. I knew it was just a waiting game at this point. Everything faded into a darkness not even the most blinding of light could combat. The only thing that I could make out with my bloodstained eyes was the word LIMBO repeated over and over again in blank, dark space. It started off faint. Something you couldn’t see unless you were actively looking for it. Then, it grew clearer. What was once a faded figure of glyphs was now a flashbang of white, arial letters. The letters shouting louder at me with each passing second, and just when I thought it was over, just when the letters couldn’t get much brighter, I was somewhere else. Had I done it? The first person to ever escape Mindcap’s maze of hell? Of course, I was skeptical. This was unlike a place I’ve ever seen before: A black void outlined with splashes of various colors, unlike the blue to red theme of LIMBO. I ventured further into the void to reveal a text. A sign. A direction to tell me exactly where I was. A guide to tell me exactly what I was getting myself into. I read the text with an emotionless stare. Neither relief, nor dread crossed my mind, but three words were enough to stop me dead in my tracks.
“Welcome to Requiem.”

the glow indicator for the starting key is also randomized, i can talk about it in detail in DMs hmu [mindcap#1001]

Limbo feels different from other collabs. It gives everyone a lot more to work with when the only thing you have to do is make it hard and make it memory. Every part has its own custom design and gameplay and that makes limbo feel extremely fresh and especially unique compared to other collab levels
Love seeing this level.
This is without a doubt the coolest looking level I’ve ever seen in this game. Like an infinite, incomprehensible cosmic labyrinth. It looks as though you were bobbing and weaving through the fabric of space and time itself. Absolute masterpiece both as a level and as a work of modern art. 10/10.

I only just noticed, but the end when it says limbo after you choose the key, you are literally in Limbo, awaiting the outcome of your choice. Do you suceed, or perish? Very clever. It's the little details that make a rewatch worthwile every now and then.

Steps to make vismuth's part in limbo:
Step 1: dont

Step 5: First of all my english sucks, at the start of vismuth's part you're gonna start as the ship, then you need to click on the first trigger orb which will teleport you and change your gravity, then you need to click on the next trigger orb, now you should click the red and trigger orb which syncs with the music, the last one will make you small, then you need to click on the black orb and then click on the yellow, green and trigger orb quickly, the last one will teleport you near to a pink dash orb, you should hold it for less than one second and then click on the green orb, now you need to go through a cube portal changing your speed to x2, then you should click on the blue orb, jump in one platform and then click on the green orb which are spinning like a spinner from 2017, avoiding the red orb during the process, then jumping in some rotating platforms and clicking a black orb, now you will pass through a gravity portal and then jump in two of the rotating platforms avoiding one of the blue orbs and clicking in the bluecorb next to it, then jump on a platform, click on the pink orb and a yellow orb, then click on the next yellow orb avoiding one red orb because red sus, then click on the green orb, jump in other rotating platform and then click quickly on the blue, red and pink dash orb, hold for less than one second , dont hold for too much and then clicking in the green dash orb cuz thats a fake part which will make you die in a very dumb wae, when you stop holding you're going through another gravity portal and finally just jump a spike with some timing which which will take yout to the transition to jenkins and saria's part.
(I wrote all of this garbage like in 15 minutes lol)

i only recently got into gd again with 2.2 and man this level is way out of my league. And yet it is really nicely made, good job everyone that worked on this!
This is way out of 99% of people's leagues. The fact that bloodbath already looks impossible to most people and it's tens of times easier than this is insane. Also the fact that this isn't even top 10 anymore I don't think. Gd players are some of the best gamers in the world

apparently it's just the keys and the spam becomes muscle memory?
@@Strata69 yea, the keys are really hard to follow though, and you have to memorize a different pattern each time under nerves, this might actually end up being THE hardest part of the level, just because of how difficult it is to memorize things under insane amounts of stress

2:00 is def my favorite part. This level is so pleasing to watch and the gameplay is amazing. All the parts fits well together, the song does too. What I love the most about his level is its creativity, something different then hell demons. Probably my all time favorite demon, look and difficulty wise.
