Takes me back a few years. My claim to fame is I sat in for Alan at a house party in Southwold until Alan could make it! Years later we met again at church … he played piano me, the organ! Great fun! 🌹
Thank you to whoever put this album on RUclips. It brings back some amazing memories from my 'growing up' days when Alan was our church's organist and pianist and his playing was out of this world! Thank You Jesus!!!!
Was your church in Eastbourne? I think that's where Dick Saunders was.
Alan Wakefords church was The Gospel Hall ,then at Swanfield Chapel Chichester W Sussex
Alan Wakeford brings back some lovely old memories, of the past.
Wonderful !
I had to come back and listen to this album once again. I love how he uses runs and fills in his playing. In the midwest we call this evangelistic style. I first heard this style and found it so different then what I heard in the churches in New York. I love it. I wish he had recorded more then this one album. Can you please post more of Alan's music? God bless him and his God given talent.
He did recorded another album, and I happened to buy 1
Alan went to be with the Lord quite a few years ago and long before it was easy to self record and publish etc. His sister was also a brilliant pianist. Talented family! 😊
Returned again to enjoy this beautiful record album. So happy I found it. Thanks for posting this so I could enjoy it along with many others.
What a blessing
I love his style of piano playing as it sounds just like our pianist Joanne Snapp who played for our choir at the Wichita Baptist Tabernacle back in 1963 when I joined the church at 18 years old.
I remember Alan's playing the organ at the Way to Life crusades. I may well have a cassette of Alan's playing which is also great. However, what I'd like to know about John Hall, the crusade's pianist. I have Googled him, but can't find anything. Also, is Dick Saunders still with us? I have also sung in a couple of the crusade's choirs in the 80s.
