I didn't like the movie much.. but the music was everything you could feel the agony of the vampires which Anne Rice's books were so famous for. I just wish she had confronted R. Kelly instead of standing her ground alone injured to the point of disabikity for the sake of her afflicted family. She was violated & scared........with her very name as the catalyst signed as if married...... ♥️♦️♠️♣️🃏🃏🃏🃏

Just because an african american woman was cast , does not necessarily mean Aaliyah was portraying Akasha as black woman the monolithic race is known today. Egyptian rule aside, much like Cleopatra, Akasha married into the kingdom as a political union, so she wasn’t even north African, but this doesn’t mean Aaliyah is incapable of portraying an ethnic woman from a nation long gone.
