What beauty of a gem, nice looks pretty clean the old bus, awesome sounds a old 173 hey cool cheers KC Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🤝🇦🇺🇦🇺😎🙂👍
Best looking Holden since the EH.
Nice one! I had one as my first car. You can tell it is a '72 or earlier. A minor change to the front lighting from '73 onwards. The '73 changed the clear front indicator/park light lenses to amber. The parking lights were moved to the headlight globes. Many of the 73's had a metric speedo too, in anticipation of the country going to metric speeds/distances in 1974.
Today I have just subscribed to your channel for the first time
Very nice
Can’t wait for more updates on this one as the HQ is my dream car one day
Be doing a video soon on rego and what it needs
Looks like a perfect car to do it up for your son to keep
Awesome car. My father had the exact same Kingswood as this one many years ago and it was my first time riding inside a Holden vehicle. I’m gonna subscribe to your channel so that I can see more videos of you building this beauty back to life.
Thanks for the sub mate
Classic car.
Learnt how to drive in a 74 Kingswood (with 3 speed column),around Newcastle in the late 70's,and in peak hour traffic.
Great memories.
One of my first cars was a hj station wagon with a factory 253 and 3 speed column shift and power steer was a fun car as a younger kid I’d burn a set of tyres . A week 🤣🇦🇺🇦🇺
@@383GARAGE 😎👍
Good luck with the build, will be watching closey :D Definetly digging the patina!
Just finished restoring a 96 Honda CRX and covid really helped put the project in overdrive took 4 years but its finally done, just waiting to actually drive it, down in Melbourne. Also trying to go for the patina look too but in an artificial way (keep the metal underneath safe haha). Paint was shot on the car so i sanded it all back and primed it then cleared so its no longer porous then primed over the clear just gotta wait a year or two for the sun to chalk it out so i gotta play the waiting game haha.
While I wait i'll enjoy your journey with the Kingswood :)
thanks mate i am definitely keeping the patina will be doing a video on preserving and protecting it
Another beautiful car saved. Good luck with the project, hope to see it restored 😃👍
Thanks mate
Really looking forward to seeing what you do to the HQ!
im actually exited about this one
I'm doing the same project, I put a RTS frontend into it,...It's at the painters now
Nice mate 💪
Brilian car , i'm waiting for next ep . Brafo from indonesia
Thanks mate I should have a episode out in the next day or so
Looks a little bit like a 70-72 Pontiac LeMans . Nice looking car.
A lot of parts are similar
These are used to do a conversion of a Pontiac firebird to right hand drive
Personally I would have kept the original six in it and reconition that as it wouldn't require a lot, but just my own opinion!
Congratulations that you found 1 as theyre getting rare as hens teeth nowdays
Solid ones are harder to come by mate rusty piles are still popping up on the net for big coin
Nice one 👍😎🇦🇺
Thanks mate 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
@@383GARAGE I just scored 2 HQ’s last week 👍
seems a waste not to use the original engine but still going to be good
Early trimatic, note the drain plug.
My 1979 hz wagon has a drain plug also
@@383GARAGE likely, not the original transmission.
Looking forward to seeing what you are doing with this HQ Holden Kingswood " once you have put the V8 block in your car will you still be running the 3 speed column shift automatic ?
Regards from Bill
I see that on the video that you are putting a turbo 400 automatic transmission I assume
Thanks mate yes I’ll be using the colomn shift. Just have to fabricate a cable set up to go to it 💪
@@383GARAGE it sounds very awesome from collectors point of view😎👍
Forget the auto box.I learnt how to drive in a HQ stationwagon with a three speed column shift.Fond memories.Still love the HQ's.Nuff said.
basically
Would be easier to remove the whole front clip I reckon
Yeah probably mate 🇦🇺
Do you want to sell the 202?
Maybe I have several
50k later still a shit box
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤡
