Genuinely, trevor taking the blame for the explosion at the set, honestly almost made me shed a tear, throughout the show we learn simon never really had any friends and then he finally gets one and not only does this friend “betray” him but then trevor shows how much he cares about simon and takes the blame as the mandarin in order to protect simon
Yea the symbol of betrayal. He plays barnabi the guy who betrays wonderman the same way. Then the guy who replaces Trevor is cypher from the matrix which they referenced and cypher is the one who betrayed neo
Same! I had only intended to watch the first episode, but after I finished it I just couldn’t stop and ended up watching the whole thing in one sitting. 😂
It’s supposed to be its own standalone story within the Marvel universe. So there’s small things there that tells us this is the Marvel universe, but it’s not directly connecting it to any specific project.
I mean it clearly links quite heavily to the MCU, it's just not big and showy like typical MCU products. To be honest its way more up my alley as a film lover than all the others (as much as I LOVE MCU). This feels more well rounded and well written, it feels like an A24 production. If it were a film I honestly feel like it could grab an Oscar easily. 10/10. Critics will love this. Fans maybe not so much, because they care more about big budget fan service than actual film making or cinema typically.
3:22 speaking of memories with your dad in a theater. Chris I just got the news today, I'm having a baby boy of my own! I'm joining the boy dad club in about 4 months. Can't wait to have experiences like this with my boy! I was very happy to hear about your son, and now I'm getting my own 😊
@JuanCruz-d7mand the avengerz do need new members since bob is more of a guy behind the desk type of guy until he gets some better help to manage the sentry
it was great, understand why they went with the binge model beacuse of the short episodes but it also just works better that way, hopefully we see him soon again
I was somewhat eh when first seeing the trailer but MAN I was hooked from episode to episode. One of the more solid MCU shows and I do hope Simon Williams returns soon
I always loved Trevor but his arc in this show really hit me in the feels. Dude is legit a kind soul. The mandarin stuff was effed up. But with him being drugged up and lied too it kinda shows the trauma he must’ve went through. I don’t know how much he actually knew. But it’s almost winter soldier levels of trauma in a way.
I think the scene of him getting the job as Mandarin was heartbreaking because he just wanted to practice his art and they took advantage of him. Granted he was extremely irresponsible but you felt for him. And that's such a hard thing to try and do to redeem his character
@TheManInTheRedHatyeah exactly. Felt super predatory against him. How sweet he is now compared to what AIM had him doing is so crazy. I didn’t mind the mandarin twist. And I thought it only got better with Shang chi. But this really brought it home for Trevor for me.
3:17 I don’t think you need to be a fan of the superhero genre to have that memory. I’m pretty sure every film fan has at least that one memory of sitting in a theater at a young age and getting so into the movie
It had a small connection to Agents of SHIELD, Agent Carter and Cloak & Dagger. Doorman got his powers from the Darkforce as a result of Roxxon experiments.
Dude when the trailer came out I was like this is gonna be terrible garbage who asked for this and when I watched it i loved it I regretted judging the book by its cover
My spoiler free Review: That was insane. I feel like i’ve been the only defender since the announcement but wow this was crazy. Its very unique, feels like Marvel’s answer to an A24 movie. I’m lucky enough to have been a huge film nerd all my life so I got most of the jokes and references which works in my favor. This isnt a superhero show. Its bigger than that. Its a love-letter to cinema as a whole and the letter is beautifully stamped with Destin Daniel Cretton’s style. The writing is genuinely beautiful and offers really touching scenes. Yaya and Ben have amazing chemistry. I could watch them together for another thousand years. I do feel like there were potentially two versions of this and thats why it took so long to release. Its not nearly as inconsistent as Daredevil: Born Again or Suicide Squad, but it feels like there was Destin’s version (the “filmlover” cut) and then theres the mandated cut (the “we need some semblance of continuity with the rest of the universe” cut). I feel like the middle of the show kinda sidelines the filmmaking parts and saves them for the finale which was insanely well executed. I really hope we get another season at least because this ending really leaves you thinking and I feel like we are owed some answers. I’m debating between a 5 or 4.5 but either way, this is easily one of the best MCU projects ever released. This only makes me more excited to see DDC direct Brand New Day this summer
Anyone who makes negative prejudgments should never be trusted again. They do it for clicks & bait. Even "Once Human" game & others have all these daft RUclipsrs criticizing them as p2w before they were even released & ended up wrong too. They're all idiots. The type that starts whining that a party is going to suck before they get there but the only thing that sux when you get there is them.
I like it, actors playing actors, Mateen and Kingsley are great in their roles, the prison break was awesome, funny how pantoliano got the barnaby role
As someone who has had to send in self tapes with a deadline this show was such an accurate and fun dive into the industry/acting! I found myself dying at some parts lol
Kingsley really carried it, where it was important, especially with the last bits that yaya couldn’t, but I enjoyed watching them both together on screen !
Imo Agatha was the best Disney+ TV Show. Loki was great, but you still need a bit of knowledge of the movies. Agatha tells you everything you need to know, within the show.
Lots of people are saying they love Wonder Man and want more. From various you tubers to different commentors, i keep seeing overall praise for the show. Good times.
I have seen multiple reviewers recap YaYa's genre highlights without mentioning that he is Dr Manhattan in HBO Watchmen, the best comic book TV show ever (even edging Loki and Netflix Daredevil)
I’ve been saying since “Werewolf By Night” that THAT was the route they should be going for a good chunk of their Disney+ content, like somewhat niche characters we haven’t seen on screen before in like a smaller scale 45 to like 75 min tale. Even these 8 episodes with around 20-25 mins of actual story if you deduct the credits instead of the usual 45 to an hour felt pretty quick when compared to the usual marvel series and it was nice to be GENUINELY INTERESTED AND INVESTED AGAIN LIKE BIHHH THAT DREAM HAD ME FLOORED 😅😅😂 And seeing that “Doorman” episode was awesome, it did an amazing job proving a point I’ve been trying to make all this time about these kinda one off intros or side quests
I must be on a different algorithm then the rest of yall because I've seen a ton of marketing. Trailers, TV ads, billboards, benches, old school flyers with a working phone number. I've been getting weekly voicemails from trevor slattery ffs!!!
I like how insightful you are Cris. I agree this show would not work on a weekly basis due to its "cliffhanger model". And I think more studios should embrace that.
Binged it from release, finished around 2 am. Top 2 Marvel TV for me. I swear they randomly just drop the deepest monologues in these marvel shows. Wandavisions ‘what is grief if not love persevering?’ Here we are with wonder man, and Trevor drops the most beautiful line I’ll probably hear all year ‘the real you isn’t your condition. The real you is the sum of everything you experienced….’
I don't even know where they would go from here in a season 2. He put a target on his back when he freed Trevor. I know he fritzed the cameras with his powers, but still Damage Control will be suspicious of him. Also what is Trevor going to do no? He can't live a normal life and Simon already got his dream role too. I think him cameoing in other projects might be better, but I don't know someone in Hollywood probably has a compelling idea.
Thoroughly enjoyed this show! The unexpected bromance between Simon and Trevor wasn't something that I expected. Also, I'm not sure that Wonder Man is completely in the world of the MCU. Its under the Marvel Spotlight banner, which essentially isn't focused on that just yet. Simon is gonna need to keep cooking with fans to end up on the big screen just yet. I think that this sets up the reality of the DODC being set up to hunt mutants when we enter the Mutant Saga.
I’m pretty sure it is in the MCU, there were mentions of Captain America. Also there were pictures of Cap, Vision, Black Panther etc on the Directors vision board in his house.
@darthwatson8274 I think ultimately it will. I just think the Marvel Spotlight gives it time for character development before the big movie introduction. That's all I'm saying. I think it'll take some time.
If you saw at the beginning the show was a title screen of “marvel spotlight” which feels like this is an origin story and we will see simon again soon, maybe at the end of Spiderman?
Man for a superhero that used his powers the least amount of times as other heroes, this is how you put together a show and Door Man is my favorite character
True bros behavior from both of them
Samee
Then Simon busts him out of jail, that was everything for me
@mrceadme too 😭
I never thought that Trevor would be a character that would grow on me
I like Trevor, he has great chemistry with Simon Williams
Me neither
Dustin Daniel Cretton supervised his arc on this saga ofc he would grow on you
Same!
True
Watched all 8 episodes the first night.
😊 Thanks, thumbs up, have a great day.
Same! I had only intended to watch the first episode, but after I finished it I just couldn’t stop and ended up watching the whole thing in one sitting. 😂
@blueturret5596 lol same!
Saaaaaaaaaaaaaaame!!!
@blueturret5596Omg saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame!!
The Department of damage control seems to be the only link to anything.
They are now targeting anyone with powers
It’s a Marvel Showcase show, the white intro at the start, that means it’s not supposed to link to anything. It’s its own standalone show.
It’s supposed to be its own standalone story within the Marvel universe. So there’s small things there that tells us this is the Marvel universe, but it’s not directly connecting it to any specific project.
The void is the place he wentttt tooo
I mean it clearly links quite heavily to the MCU, it's just not big and showy like typical MCU products.
To be honest its way more up my alley as a film lover than all the others (as much as I LOVE MCU). This feels more well rounded and well written, it feels like an A24 production. If it were a film I honestly feel like it could grab an Oscar easily. 10/10.
Critics will love this. Fans maybe not so much, because they care more about big budget fan service than actual film making or cinema typically.
Simon and Trevor’s bromance is up there with mobius and Loki
YES ✊🏻
💯 Thank you!
3:22 speaking of memories with your dad in a theater. Chris I just got the news today, I'm having a baby boy of my own! I'm joining the boy dad club in about 4 months. Can't wait to have experiences like this with my boy! I was very happy to hear about your son, and now I'm getting my own 😊
Congratulations man 🎉🎉🎉
Congratulations 🎊 🎉🎉
Thanks! ❤
Congratulations man!🎉
Nice man congrats 🎉
DAWG, when they flew off at the end I was literally clapping at the tv. It was very satisfying.
same here man, that was so damn peak, this was the best superhero show i've seen, this felt natural
Talk about sticking a landing sheesh. Perfect season end
Man this show was so good. I know it probably wont connect with anything else but this was definitely Disney+ best Marvel series
@meplus31317it do connect tho wonder man is in LA Trevor know Shang chi right ?!
@JuanCruz-d7mand the avengerz do need new members since bob is more of a guy behind the desk type of guy until he gets some better help to manage the sentry
Just finished it. Might be my new fave, might be recency bias but destin daniel cretin is on a great run so far with his MCU work
he thoroughly impressed me with this
Ngl brand new day might be peak
What else has he done? This scratched the itch for a new scripted show for me so well while also being a "superhero" show my wife actually enjoyed 😂
I think the show is setting up more than meets the eye.. the DODC are hunting “Mutants” ..
No 💩 Sherlock
I love the doorman episode so much
Thats my favourite episode too
Same did you also get black mirror vibes from it too? Or was that just me
Felt like I was watching one of those episodes from Atlanta.
"Heyy Doormannn!"
- The Clipse
@Randomuzahh007no way were the clipse in there???
its apple's "the studio" made by marvel
it was great, understand why they went with the binge model beacuse of the short episodes but it also just works better that way, hopefully we see him soon again
9:20 I never in my life would have thought they would add a great lake avenger to the mcu, they added him in sucha great way too
Mister immortal was in she hulk
@imdefn i never knew this 🤯
I was waiting for this upload 😂
Same here
Same
Appreciate that🫡
Mateen was great as Black Manta, and he totally won me over as Simon.
13 years in the making the redemption story line for the Fake mandarin and it was worth it honestly ok I need a Wonder mandarin movie
@2:46 imo it was more of a love letter to the art of acting more than it was about hollywood.
Agreed
I absolutely agree
I was somewhat eh when first seeing the trailer but MAN I was hooked from episode to episode. One of the more solid MCU shows and I do hope Simon Williams returns soon
I always loved Trevor but his arc in this show really hit me in the feels. Dude is legit a kind soul. The mandarin stuff was effed up. 13:26 cut off too soon lol!!
3:17 I don’t think you need to be a fan of the superhero genre to have that memory. I’m pretty sure every film fan has at least that one memory of sitting in a theater at a young age and getting so into the movie
0:45 Doorman was an amazing pull from Marvel
The Megan 3.0 joke had me dying when I heard it.
I randomly remembered how funny that joke was after finishing the show lol 😂😂
Can't believe Sir Ben Kingsley is in such good shape. He's 82
I love when Tevor very casually mentions his time in the pocket demension.
I don't think Marvel knew what they had with Wonder Man. Hopefully they're taking notes and can figure what to do next for Wonder Man
I need that remix of In Summer to be playing at the clubs in LA for a while!
J Gad was killin 😂😂
This was the most grounded Marvel show ever made. They managed to balance the superhero element with a very relatable character and story. Bravo.
AHH IVE BEEN SUMMONED
Shout Out to my Doorknobs 🚪
Trevor's 13 years sober references made me laugh. Iron Man 3 came out 13 years ago.
Just finished the show, what great timing
I'm glad they released episodes all at once, the pacing was great, and the show itself was great too!
Big fan of admitting when you’re wrong. Love to see it.
Glad a goofy learned his lesson.
exactly
5:15 thank god. Imma check it out tn
3c's fursuit looks AMAZING in this vid 🌹🥹
???????????????????????
Marvel has been cooking recently
Lmfao
I wouldn’t say cooking , but u can tell from 2025 they did start to heat up the oven a little bit
Forreal!!
Undercooked but still better than rotten
And the future is bright. Brand New Day, Doomsday, Secret Wars, Black Panther 3, X Men, Vision Quest..
Bigger world building? Let’s see how it goes !
I really like the way they depict his powers they look so sick and unique
One of the best MCU TV series, a really fun romp that became so much better as the season went on.
My spoiler free Review:

The scene where they’re saying about being knighted while Simon is standing in front of Sir Ben Kingsley, an appointed Knight was great.
Episode 5 made me tear up and Episode 6 with Trevor and Simon got me man, that speech really got to me so good
Simon and Trev friendship really grew on me. I screamed like an idiot when they got a callback 😂
When they flew out got me glad to hear in the last episode
I like it, actors playing actors, Mateen and Kingsley are great in their roles, the prison break was awesome, funny how pantoliano got the barnaby role
destiny so steal Trevor role
As someone who has had to send in self tapes with a deadline this show was such an accurate and fun dive into the industry/acting! I found myself dying at some parts lol
I’ve been a life long Trevor truther, Wonder Man vindicated me
As a Brit, love the Coronation Street reference. US viewers may not know Ben Kingsley did play Ron Jenkins.
I wonder if anyones first super hero movie theater experience was Drake Bell's Dragonfly 😂
Trevor is a variant of Ben Kingsley
😂 Fantastic observation!
Much needed vibe change for a MCU series, I enjoyed this show 💯
That Doorman episode was awesome!
Agreed! I hope "The Mandarin"s escape at the end also let Doorman get out. Pretty sure they were in the same prison
My new favorite show of 2026.
Trevor has always been a great character and Iron Man 3 continues to be underrated. Glad to see him back.
I just finished watching the series, this first season was wonderful, man I hope we get a second season
Kingsley really carried it, where it was important, especially with the last bits that yaya couldn’t, but I enjoyed watching them both together on screen !
I love this show I thought it was Hilarious in every Episodes yeah Loki is still the greatest Marvel Disney + show ever!!!!
For me it’s WandaVision. But Loki is a close second for me.
What?
Loki is goated
Imo Agatha was the best Disney+ TV Show. Loki was great, but you still need a bit of knowledge of the movies. Agatha tells you everything you need to know, within the show.
I absolutely loved this show. It hit me right in the feels as a once aspiring actor.
Great character building
woahh bro this show was so captivating bro when he shattered that guys face in was insane 😭
This show blew me away!
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Department of Damage Control end up making the Sentinels to capture the mutants
Lots of people are saying they love Wonder Man and want more. From various you tubers to different commentors, i keep seeing overall praise for the show.
Good times.
Hank go fix the danger room
@microcelltechnicalassistence😅
I have seen multiple reviewers recap YaYa's genre highlights without mentioning that he is Dr Manhattan in HBO Watchmen, the best comic book TV show ever (even edging Loki and Netflix Daredevil)
No action and yet i feel so intrigued. The show is so unexpectedly chill and amazing
I REALLY hope this character gets to be in more projects simin has become my favorite mcu character
I liked the slow build up to the jail breakout scene. Also, J- Gad might be Mojo.
Omg, what a sleeper show, I loved it.
DODC will be hunting down mutants very soon
I’ve been saying since “Werewolf By Night” that THAT was the route they should be going for a good chunk of their Disney+ content, like somewhat niche characters we haven’t seen on screen before in like a smaller scale 45 to like 75 min tale. intro to the pilot is so real
(WE all was little skipping in the theaters w our families!)
I didn't think I'd like it as much as I did. It would be great to see more. Is he going to pop up anywhere else?
The doorman is a likeable guy, but I can imagine that later he will become the main villain.
I hope they continue the show, it was great
I must be on a different algorithm then the rest of yall because I've seen a ton of marketing. Trailers, TV ads, billboards, benches, old school flyers with a working phone number. I've been getting weekly voicemails from trevor slattery ffs!!!
I hope he wasn't dropping spoilers in the voicemails 😔
@jonahmiller5881nah he was giving me acting tips! Box breathing, etc
It's usually the audience's excuse to explain why a great tv show doesn't get views. It absolved them from taking any form of accountability
I like how insightful you are Cris. I agree this show would not work on a weekly basis due to its "cliffhanger model". And I think more studios should embrace that.

‘the real you isn’t your condition. The real you is the sum of everything you experienced….’
Man I was wondering when Cris would post his review
Say that again
I decided giving the show a chance and absolutely loved it, it’s just fresh and different and the character work was fantastic
Ngl, I'd have loved a really quick cameo from Scorpion in one of those cells! Lol

Bro my disney+ lose connection at exactly the beginning of the finale
Wait, what!?! The exact same thing happened to me!
You have good taste sir. Your observation of MCU is on the nose.
1:59 I wish he was the real Mandrin. Imagine if he did.....
Excellent update for 3C. Hope Kinda Culty need to look this video to update with Dare Devil Born Again Season 2, Spider Man BND and Avengers Doomsday.
Will you do a spoiler talk on the live would love to even more of your thoughts!
I am 2 epidsodes in and it is horrible so far. Not sure I can finish it
I loved this show so much. I understand it won’t be for everyone, but as an aspiring actor and fan of movies, I had so much fun.
I would love to see Simon join the West Coast Avengers
As well as the main Avengers team
If you saw at the beginning the show was a title screen of “marvel spotlight” which feels like this is an origin story and we will see simon again soon, maybe at the end of Spiderman?
I'm excited to see wonderman!
Wasn’t one of the eternals an actor in Bollywood correct me if I’m wrong .
Yeah the one who could shoot blasts from his hands.
The fact that i saw your positive review makes me excited to watch this show
Can’t wait to see this
Hey Chris next side flick can you talk about the strangers chapter 3 new clip and poster
Damn, those ninja turtles gave me a Jumpscare. When did chris have that lol.
Man for a superhero that used his powers the least amount of times as other heroes, this is how you put together a show and Door Man is my favorite character
