I'm saying this as far as that scripture goes the interpretation of that was that man loved his riches more than he love to walk with God because what happened was there was a rich man that kept all the commandments from his youth so God asked him to sell all and follow him and the fact that he put his riches above God that's what made being rich a sin does that make sense that's why the Bible said the love of money is the root of all evil it's okay for you to have riches but you're not supposed to love money because money carry a spirit on it and if you do not have a heart posture and the right Spirit to handle money it will cause you to fall away from God because you will put that money as a idol above God I hope this explains
