Out and About on the Thames and Medway 31st August 2023

  • A passage from the Medway to Tilburyness on the Thames onboard my Colvic Northerner Irvetta.The day was overcast with isolated showers and due to the forecast later in the day we decided to return to the Medway earlier than expected.

    Enjoy all your videos Ted, particularly as we cruise much the same area in our Colvic 26 (northerner) called Galeus. I think editing out the engine noise and you giving us interesting information is definitely an improvement. Thanks Richard

    Great stuff Ted. As a man who knows his stuff, it would be great if you could add a few words regarding non container vessels amd what cargo they are carrying. For example, what were the vessels at Purfleet carrying?

      Thank you Trevor. Will include that in the 2024 videos.I think most of the tankers at Purfleet discharge Petroleum products such as diesel and grades of petrol for the retail market.The ro ros the other side of the bridge carry mostly trailers and export cars and diggers etc. Regards Ted.
