- I recently stumbled upon a game in the Nintendo eShop called Kuukiyomi, a game that aims to find out how considerate of a person you are. What entailed was one of the most ridiculous and hilarious games I've played in a long time!

See how considerate you can be, without worrying about what others think. The smash-hit game "Consider It" is coming to Nintendo Switch with some new problems to consider and a two-player mode. Take it with you wherever you go.
So what is "Consider It"? Simply move the red object on the screen to play each problem. Most of the time you will be controlling yourself, but sometimes you might control other things too. Play through 100 problems, and get evaluated on how "considerate" you are.

I love it when video games made in Japan showcase Japanese culture for foreigners. Japan is a country I've wanted to travel to for a while now so seeing Dave play this game is good so that way if I ever do go I know certain cultural customs I wouldn't've learned had I not watched this video

Some explanation of the scenarios:
12:11 The correct thing to do is leave on time. In Japanese work culture, it is generally considered rude to leave before your boss. So in this scenario, the subordinates can't leave until you do. This is part of the reason Japan has such crazy overtime hours but is considered one of the least productive work cultures. Japanese people work harder, not smarter.
12:33 Yakiniku or "grilled meat" is a restaurant where you grill your own meat on a grill built into your table. We usually call this Korean BBQ in English.
13:00 The sushi with black stripe around it (Nori) is rolled omelet sushi. You would want to take just those so the chicken doesn't see it.
17:07 This a parent observation day at school. In Japanese there are a few Saturdays a year where students have classes and parents can go and observe the classes.
19:04 In the Tokyo area people stand on the left side of escalators leaving the left open for people to walk. This is reversed in the Osaka area.
Kuukiyomi (空気読み) means to read the air, or as we usually say in English "Read the room." Fun fact: In Japanese online slang 空気読み is often abbreviated as "KY" for "kuukiyomi."
Apparently "Yakinuki" means "grilled meat," making Sushi the more appealing choice to treat a cow to dinner. Still not the ideal choice, but...
Though they do have vegetarian sushi sometimes.
That would be Yakiniku, Yaki means grilled, Niku means meat.
Japanese people like yakiniku so much that when asked if they want sushi or yakiniku, they hesitate🍖
For yakiniku, you grill meat, and the smell would get on your clothes.
It’s usually not considered the best place to go on for dates, or at least like first couple if dates before you get to really know the person.

You may want to consider taking a Tamago Sushi made of eggs for yourself instead of passing them to the Chicken man.
You may want to stay on the left side of the escalator in Osaka, Japan, as it is the local rule. (In Tokyo, it is common to keep on the right side.) Each region has its own local customs.

I could explain most of the ones that you didn't get, but it would take forever. Basically, the point is to make the other people around you feel happy, at the expense of getting what you really want.

Kūkiyomi means "air reading", I think. What that would mean, Idk :).
The Western equivalent is "reading the room" or "reading between the lines". It basically means to pay attention and act appropriately in social situations. Aka be considerate to others without having to ask.
It's a very important part of Japanese culture. Suppose you do something you usually consider appropriate and some people around you start looking at you. Then, you have to "read the air" and realise that you might have been doing something wrong according to Japanese culture.
Japanese people are usually very subtle and won't tell you directly when you're doing something wrong.
You should definitely play My Name Is Mayo for this serious, I think it rightfully fits the bill. Also it has two sequels so if you like you'll have plenty of follow-up content

u will smell of backed meat if u take lunch with girlfriend and u are thinking go to yakiniku restaurant or sushi restaurant i recommend u to go sushi restaurant because most japanese girl hate to be smelled of food
